it is Official.

Mr Phill Collins just prenounced at the musical Awards,

Tarzan will be the next big Musical that opens after the Lion King in Holland

I rather had Wicked or Mary Poppins, but Tanzan???

I don't understand.

Not a musical i would go to

has anyone seen it yet?

Stage Holding's interests in Disney musicals strikes again. With Mary Poppins facing the ever-crucial Broadway opening (which is a big enough deal to kick Lion King over to the Minskoff!) they're not going to try to mount an international production at the same time. Thus, you get Tarzan, which I wouldn't want to see either. And that's disregarding the hideous reviews and lukewarm response after the huge pre-sales.

And I see your pick for Best Actor in a Major Musical won..!

That's being generous. The buzz on the other boards for Tarzan is absolutely awful. A good friend of mine works in NYC theatre, sees almost everything that opens, and said that Tarzan was the worst thing he's ever seen in the city, claiming that even IN MY LIFE was a better show.

However, Joop's a smart businessman. The Disney name will sell this on its own.

Update:

Chantal Jansen is cast as jane,

Chantal is a big name in Dutch Musical, She played Steffany in SNF, and now she is the beauty in Beauty and the beast.

There are 5 boys in the running for Tarzan. These boys are going to New York, to Broadway, to get a masterclass for mr Phil Collins himself. in the end of november there will be a tv show around the boys, and people can vote which boy they want to be tarzan.
