Anyone have the CD yet? It came out on Feb 26th! haha Yes, I got it even sooner than that because they were selling it at the Theater before the "official release" I love it, specially Ursula's songs and "Sweet Child, Poor Child";D On the other hand I hate the guy playing Sebastian...

I've took back all my fears of this show and decided to see it with a couple of friends(Jennifer and Genevieve), on the night on the town and was overly amazed at the whole thing. I also picked up the cast recording in which is really perfect!
Ahh such a dazzling show and one of my favorites(despite plot changes and all).

Faith Prince as Ursula just makes no sense to me.

Another struggling show starts the stunt casting... Seriously, the attendance-% has been under 90% lately which is the weakest of the current 3 Disney shows on Broadway. But then again they should remember that this is the slowest time of the year as far as the ticket sales are concerned.

This show was possibly the most boring thing I have seen in my entire life. The only thing that kept me awake was Sherie.

I didn't think it was that boring but it just didn't have that "WOW!" factor that THE LION KING and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST had. And the new songs just lacked the brilliance of the film's songs - except Ursula's new solo number "I want the good times back", which was excellent.
The good thing about the sets was that they're fast! The scene changes were very quick at times. The bad thing is the lack of color and that everything is made of plastic - and it shows!
The changes to the story left me a bit confused: there's no sea battle at the end - of course that would be difficult to pull off. But to replace the whole "Ursula changes into Vanessa" thing with a song contest... very un-imaginative! And I didn't see the point in why Ursula was all of a sudden King Triton's sister?! It didn't bring anything new to the story. And why and how does a merman (King T.) have a sister who's an octopus?!??
Though this show is not the most hopeless case on Broadway it definitely could be better!

It didn't help that I had just seen In The Heights hours before, which was probably my favorite of the shows I've seen on Broadway.

This show was possibly the most boring thing I have seen in my entire life. The only thing that kept me awake was Sherie. You probably never saw Les Miserables LOL ;D Now that's an awfully boring show. And why and how does a merman (King T.) have a sister who's an octopus?!?? Well if they are sons of Poseidon (wich was the idea I got from it) and Poseidon is the God of the Sea...he could have had children the way he wanted lol ;D
