I've decided to make a thread for this musical, since although we've been discussing it in another thread, it was in the European section. So let's discuss! Official site: www.toho.co.jp/stage/ma/welcome-j.htmlUnfortunately there hasn't been much news lately... seems like Toho is really busy putting TdV together right now. I'll make sure to check for any further updates! Oh, and Yuichiro Yamaguchi will be playing the role of a mysterious (?) alchemist who gets to do magic tricks on stage!

As it is they're planning to play it once from November to December, and then once again during the first half of next year... so I don't know when they'll make the live recording.

Sorry for the double post here. Wanted to share the link to the brochure scan they put up on their blog (it's in Japanese, of course): exercise.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/files/MAchirashi4c.pdfThe center one is Marie Antoinette (obviously), and the two girls on her sides are the double cast for the character Marguerite (sp?).

What's the story about? I can see MA and two peasants and an alchemist, a prince and a girl holding the Bible? Will this be funny? Edit: I forgot the man dressed in black, probably the evil guy, right?

YAY, Yamaguchi-sama! He is just a wonderful Actor(whatever you do Yamaguchi, don't let Uchino take your place ;D). Anyway, I hope he plays Maxim de Winter in a Japanese Production of Rebecca.

The site has been updated, with some new videos of previously unreleased songs. toho.co.jp/stage/ma07/kaiken.htmlIf you scroll down to the bottom, you will see six links to videos. The 3rd and 4th links are the new songs.

The world premiere of Marie Antoinette has begun! ;D They had a great opening night, and here are some pictures of the curtain call with both Kunze and Levay. ma1.toho-stage.com/2006/11/post_27.html#moreThere's a video of the curtain call on this one (Quicktime & WMP): ma1.toho-stage.com/2006/11/post_28.html#morelol I love the end of the video... Yamaguchi goofing around again. Seems like he gets to sing only one song, though, because his character is not very big. I've read reviews and it seems like a pretty dark musical (not surprising, of course).

Somehow this musical is reminding me of Rose Of Versailles ;D.
