^^
More or less, your answer is what I wanted to read.
You are amateurs in the noble meaning of the word, and I only am an average listener who like musicals ! (no irony there, I mean it !)
I don't pretend my opinion is the best or the topics I propose are the most interesting .
I just wanted to show that people posting on this forum not only intimidate the other readers but, because of their passion for a limited range of musicals, they desperate them.
Of course, "Elisabeth" is THE non-english speaking musical in the world ! Yes, the synopsis, the way to play the roles, to sing them or to stage the show are very rich topics !
But, precisely : I regret the lack of curiosity of the members of the forum for other plays even if not essential to the musical universe !
Diversity in the opinions, you say : ok but in the subjects too !
The topics are limited to short news, quizz or polls !
So, some monthes, you can see more than a week between 2 posts !
Honestly, I'm not on a forum to read that X will play this role in that play ! There are news sites for that !
I'd rather read - and contribute - to a debate about "why will X be greater than Y in the role, or not !" "Is the new play of Z better than the previous one and why ?", "does a lousy film can become a good musical?", "can we compare the different versions of Dracula (Cyrano,...)?), a s o...
Once, on a musical forum I read 10 full pages of people arguing about who is the best Norma Desmond, Patti LuPone or Glenn Colse ? This was passionate and captivating for the reader !
Btw, this forum is positive to me too : thanks to Fantasma da Opera for you revitalized my interest in Wildhorn's work ! I still don't like J&H but I'm found of the newies... And I've learned a lot from the "specialists' articles" ! But don't feel able to answer !
And that is the matter of this topic ! ;D
