I am very eclectic with my music to as one day I would play Asian Music, then Classical Music, then all kinds of Rock Music.
The Classical Musicians Past and Present: Bach, Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Holst, Shostakovich, John Williams and Phillip Glass
Opera singers: Maria Callas, Beverly Sills, Cecilia Bartolli, Renée Fleming, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli and Montserrat Caballé will soon follow as some of my favorites.
Asian Music(though most of them are from the Japanese scene): Ayumi Hamasaki, BoA(I know she's Korean but she's sung in Japanese), Malice Mizer, Gackt, Versailles, Crystal Kay, Yuna Ito, Hirai Ken, PUFFY and Chemistry.
Rock Music: Nightwish, Sirenia, Evanesence, Within Temptation, Queen, Iron Maiden, KISS, Razed in Black, Kamelot, Sonata Arctica, Nocturnal Rites
I also liked what I heard from Amália Rodrigues, Lucia Mendez and Amanda Miguel though its something I wouldn't play in the computer CD player but only in my regular CD player that's located on the entertainment center.

I'm very fixated on musicals these days, but I do occasionally listen to other stuff, too. Mainly classical music then, and there I listen to quite a variety of stuff.
Some of my favourite composers are Mozart, Schubert, Liszt, Tschaikovsky, Beethoven, Strauss, Debussy, Satie, Sibelius and Merikanto. Up to quite recently I mainly listened to instrumental classical music, but I've recently taken a liking to opera and other classical singing, too. I mainly seem to like the German/Austrian/Slavic composers for singing, too, Italian opera rubs me the wrong way somehow. Though of course there are good songs in the Italian ones, too.
I haven't really gathered a big collection of favourite classical singers yet, but I really love Lucia Popp, as well as Barbara Bonney, Frederica von Stade, Diana Damrau and some others.
Other stuff that I like: Enya, Adiemus, Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, some Finnish rock/alternative bands such as CMX, Jim Steinman's music... I also like older swing/jazz type music and 50's/60's music but can't name any special performers right now. And then there's just a lot of random stuff I like listening to but don't often actively seek them out.

Rock, metal, etc: Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Jim Steinman's music (solo, Meat Loaf...), Within Temptation, Sisters of Mercy, Rammstein... Lately I've also been listening to certain songs by Finnish rock bands like Yö, Don Huonot, Neljä ruusua and so on.
Calm: Gregorian, Sarah Brightman, Clannad, Enya, REM... I also like classical music but I don't know the composers well enough to be able to tell what I like most.
Then there are Abba, Boney M, James Bond film music and other very random bands and artists I found before my taste in music got "harder".
In general I could say that I like melancholy and/or dramatic music with opera-like influences, though somehow opera itself doesn't appeal to me that much. I don't listen to radio or keep up with hit music.

I rarely listen to music not from Musicals or Film Soundtracks (specially composed by John Williams, or Howard something...the guy from LotR. Well Symphonic-like Soundtracks) But when I listen to commercial music I tend to go to: Enya, Within Temptation, Nightwish (Tarja's Era only), Celtic Spirit and all sorts of Celtic music, Rammstein or The Gift. As for Opera, I prefer to listen to it in the Opera House itself rather than in the CDs. As for the popular songs....I have no idea what they are...I never listen to radio (since the only place were I still have one is my car, and I always put a CD playing) and I have took away MTV and all the similar channels from my TV's at home so I don't even have to pass for those rubish channels when I do some zapping

Love both them Bowie Tracks. I love his duet with queen which for some odd reason I left out of my list. Under Pressure was a brilliant song.

David is great with just anybody, be it Freddie Mercury or Bing Crosby, ! Freddie and David are the best in Under Pressure, though Freddie's duet with Montserrat Caballé in Barcelona is just.....wow that the world almost literally shook!
