O.K. people. I have the Soundtrack. I've had it for a few weeks now. Obviously Pierce Brosnan is no good in the film so he is rubbish on the soundtrack. BUT... things which were good on screen are appalling here. The songs are all far too long. Meaning that two of the best songs Waterloo and Chiquetita are not included here. That let me down. Then songs like Take A Chance On Me have been ruined. I wanted to hear Julier Walters solo. Instead it is a cast number. Also... the producers of this CD know it is rubbish. They have put it in a fancy case which has a button opening mechanism. It also has a glossy booklet container pictures from the film and lyrics to the songs. This is about the only thing it has going for it. The only parts I dare listen to are those with Amanda Seyfried. Oh I completely disagree! The orchestrations are brilliant & I enjoy most of the songs...love listening to it in the car! It also has track lengths on the back so you could've checked the song lengths before you spent your money?

And I seem to recall the creative team saying "that this film is not the stage show so don't go expecting to see the stage show on screen." So the songs were expanded to suit the screenplay.

Two of my best friends on here are telling me off. Lol.
Yeah. The songs are good and in actual fact I don't know what;s wrong with me at the moment. No matter what song it is or how long it lasts I can't seem to listen right to the end. The same with television programmes.
Eppy,
I ordered it off Amazon so no track lengths I'm afriad plus I didn't know what it sounded like until I got home and listened.
Death,
I have never heard the stage show recordings or seen it live. This is my only experience of the show. I do love Abba however and I loved the songs that were cut. I just wanted them to be included. Anyway I think it's growing on me now.
Back to the topic:
I just felt they could have cut down the length of the songs and added the two songs that were cut. That would have made it better. You would still have had the lush orchestrations but more variety of song.

I saw twice I loved it and I've been liking Mamma Mia's story so much I couldn't help haha My best part was "Slipping through my fingers" so touching! and It was sooo fun to watch Colin Firth wearing that tight clothes in the curtain call scene lol I just love him hehehe and For Donna...I still think Meryl streep is the top in movie world in terms of acting but sadly it looks like she was too old to play Donna to my eyes in all seriousness, I love Meryl Streep though -_-;

Since this movie is closing at my local cinema at the end of this week I thought I would pay this film another visit. It's strange having two musicals playing at the cinema at the same time. I am paying a visit to HSM3 again tomorrow.
It's a long time since I saw this film and that was with my mum on the first week it opened.
Paying it another visit, on my own, was I thought going to be pretty boring and dull. But even on your own the film is amazing and I actually enjoyed it far more this time. I noticed things I didn't see before and thought that all the women were just amazing. I love Amanda's voice. This film is never going to be one of my favourites but it certainly is good fun.
I enjoyed revisiting it and hope to get it on DVD for Christmas.

I saw the movie last week and it was fun as long as you didn't think about anything. Otherwise you'd notice all the silly and stupid jokes, plot holes, Pierce Brosnan's awful voice and other stuff like that. ABBA was the first band I ever was a fan of (back when everyone else was fighting which is better, Backstreet Boys or Spice Girls) so I enjoyed the movie because of the music. And Meryl Streep & friends were adorable.

I was a bit harsh about this movie(sorry that's a locked entry on my journal for those new), and I was never really critical about certain things since I love Abba tops but...maybe if I see it again perhaps my opinion will change. I love Meryl, she's a goddess and of course the music.
