I doubt they'll replace Susan, though Kerstin is good as Danvers too, I think Susan will be like Else Ludwig in Elisabeth. Will always be there if she can in the role. (To me as long as they don't put Maya in Rebecca its ok by me ;D) What? Going on till she's 75, having an alternate two shows a week, and hacking through the role? Then again... judging by some of her flat notes (you've only got to hear her last note of "Rebecca" on the cast recording to hear a prime example) I've got to wonder quite how long her voice will hold out. -FJ

Her higher note in the end of Rebecca may fade with age, but she can always sing that note lower and let the girl playing Ich sing the higher, or then both low, as Pia does And yes, I can't imagine other than Susan reprising the role. There can be other great Danvers, but if someone will reprise the role, that must be Susan ;D

I'm sure you've all heard the song "Frei und Schwerelos" I was just curious what the word 'schwerelos' means. Anyone know It means 'weightless'. As for Rebecca, though it's getting off-topic now... As great as Susan is in the role of Mrs Danvers, I somehow doubt she's interested in playing that role only for as long as the show is running anywhere. Surely she'll want to do something else as well. As great a role as it is, I imagine you'll still eventually get bored with it. Especially as she's singing a variation of the same melody for most of the time. I've never quite understood the attitude that when someone is really good in a role (especially if they've originated it), then it must be them that play it always and forever. One of the great beauties of live theatre is that you can have lots of different interpretations of a role (or a play/musical in general) and even if most people will often have a particular favourite, other versions can also be interesting. If you want something done the same way and by the same people all the time, then obsess with movies, not with musicals. A movie will stay the same and have the same actors no matter how many times you watch it, but a theatre piece is going to be open to different actors and interpretations, and that's how it should be.

Oh, that's great. I hope the rumours are true, but then I don't see why they wouldn't be, it would make a lot of sense to make a cast recording. After hearinig Lucy as Éponine I absolutely want to be able to get her Glinda on a CD.

I'm quite sure they will release a CD because the stage entertainment released a CD from aida too, and at this time aida was very new in europe.

As far as I know SE doesn't anymore make a recording if a German cast recording of the musical already exists, but in this case there's only the OBC... ;D

The cast recording is not just rumours. There was a press release from some time ago that detailed that there will be a cast recording released in Dec/Jan. I'll try and track it down and post it up when found.
