I was just thinking it's been a while since we've had a good old poll. So here's one for us. Pick one. :-) Just pick the location you'd most like to visit for the theatre. Also give a reason why. Mine would be Europe. Just so many good shows on that I'd like to see.

Europe. Where nowadays the best shows are playing.

London. First because I haven't been there for ELEVEN years (but I'm going this July!! ;D ;D), and because it must be amazing to have sooo many theatres and shows all in the same city...

West End, for the same reasons as Martina. Lots of theatres in one city. If you take Europe as a whole, the theatres are spread over the whole contintent, but you don't have such a high denisity of theatres.

Europe is where my musical-travelling goals are, though mostly I'm much more specified and predictable and just want to travel to Budapest and Vienna again and again and again. But I should point out (with regards to the explanations of the options) that nobody should ever ever travel to Finland to see shows. Really, trust me. You can travel there for other reasons but don't travel there for musicals.

Why isn't there an all of the above option? Really, why stick to one location if you had the means to go where you pleased?
In the end I picked Broadway/Off-Broadway. Why? You have the mainstream shows on Broadway, plus you get the gems that don't go farther than Off-Broadway. Beyond that there is still tons of theatre in NYC be it experimental or not, and you're just a hop, skip, and a jump away from numerous regional theatres.

Hell I'd love to visit all them if I could

Broadway / Off-Broadway. Basically for the same reasons stated by Nene. More popular / mainstream shows on Broadway. Then the smaller (but still high-quality) shows Off-Broadway.

I'd love to go to Las Vegas to see The Phantom Las Vegas Spectacular but I actually chose Broadway from the list because I do want to see some musicals in America. I go to the West End a lot and whilst it does have many theatres, after about 7 visits you have seen all the great shows.

I've een to Broadway, and asolutely LOVE it. I'd like to try The West Wing...It's like London's Broadway. Plus, the West End's version of Wicked was better than Broaway's at first.
