Uh.. did you know that Mary Sunshine is always played by a male?? so.. it wouldn't work--but..meh..it's your cast... Yes, I know that perfectly. But I don't see how a woman can't play this role. It worked perfectly in the movie (which I actually liked much better than having the character played by a man), so I don't see how it wouldn't work on stage.

If I was casting Phantom I would like Michael Crawford as Erik and Emmy Rossum as Christine as I think she is soooooooooo much better than Sarah Brightman. You know that there are a load of Christines out there other than Sarah Brightman and Emmy Rossum, right? A load who are better than the two combined multiplied by 100?

You know that there are a load of Christines out there other than Sarah Brightman and Emmy Rossum, right? A load who are better than the two combined multiplied by 100? I agree. I like both Emmy and Sarah for different reasons but I sort of get mad when no one gives credit to some of my other favorites. But I do see why it happens occasionally. Unless you're really into it the most "visable" Christines are the original one and the one who was in the movie. As for pop stars and celebs doing musicals my philosophy is that they should be held to the same standards as anyone else. Actually I think they should have to audition with all the others. If you have an incredable voice that's what's important to me. Not the level of fame. "Stunt" casting is on of my biggest peeves but I also wouldn't discriminate against someone suited to the role because they're famous for something else. That said I do like it when unknowns are given a chance. Like I was thrilled when Katie Clarke was cast in The Light in the Piazza. Not only is it a wonderful opportunity for a newcomer but it's also a great role for a young performer to develop in.

The cast I would've liked for The Secret Garden in London: Archibald: Philip Quast Neville: Michael McCarthy Lily: Carmen Cusack Carmen was Rose and u/s Lily but I never got to see her as Lily. I would have liked to as she has such a great voice. And for me 'Lilys Eyes' was lacking in having one terrific voice but one not so strong voice. The combination of Philip and Michael I reckon would have been as good as the dream team of Philip and Anthony Perfect Tanz cast: Krolock: Thomas Borchert Sarah: Jessica Kessler Abronsius: Jens Jenke Alfred: Fredrik Wickerts Herbert: Robert D Marx Chagal: James Sbano Rebecca: Alyssa Preston Magda: Franziska Forster

Have to agree to differ on Ian Jon Bourg. I saw him once in Stuttgart and didn't like his performance as much as Thomas' in Hamburg. For me, from what I recall, he didn't have as much stage presence and I didn't relate to the way he played the character.

For me, from what I recall, he didn't have as much stage presence and I didn't relate to the way he played the character. On the contrary, whereas I do like Thomas Borchert's von Krolock, I'm not too crazy about his portrayal. Personally, I've always felt that he seems somewhat icy and cold, yet the feelings that I've always gotten from Ian Jon Bourg is that he's much more passionate and charismatic, plus I love his voice way more. Ian Jon Bourg to me is the closest to Steve Barton that I could ask for. And then again, Ian is my 2nd favorite Phantom. So I guess there's also some personal bias to it.

I would love to imagine Ian as Krolock but what about Ethan Freeman as Krolock.
