So what does everyone think of the Drama Desk nominations?? www.dramadesk.com/nom01.htm (if you haven't seen them) Any surprises, or people you think should be there and aren't? Does anyone care to make predictions?

Well.... I actually have never heard of the Drama Desk award.. but i scanned through all the names and stuff and i only recognize Norbert Leo Butz(drools/dies) and Sherie Rene Scott.... so yea.. i want them two to win.. because they were in "Last Fie Years" which has to be... the saddest musical ever...but good lord is it amazing... I'm trying to convince my friend to do it with me for our g.12 yr at school ;D

I think they're pretty awesome. There's quite the variety and if that's any indication to what the Tonys will be like than I'm very psyched!
Also, I LOVE Christian Borle and I'm so glad he got nominated! He's so funny and I can only imagine how good he is in Spamalot. (I'll find out next week...So excited!)

Spamalot is completely sold out for the weekend I'm going! So I guess we're gonna try for lottery tickets, but given my recent luck with lotteries, I'm not expecting much. We'll probably end up at Phantom instead... (the friend I'm going with has never seen it) The actress category is stacked... with the exception of Christina Applegate, I've loved all these women in other shows, I wouldn't know where to begin to choose among them. And hooray for Casey Nicholaw getting a choroegraphy nomination!!

A bit offtopic, sorry, but could someone explain me this 'lottery' stuff with theatre tickets? I occasionally see it mentioned but no one ever really says what it means. And the actual subject... Well, I glanced through the nominees and I hardly recognised any of the names, etc, so perhaps I stay quiet about that.

Go Dirty Rotten Scoundrels! Though I am looking forward to Christina in Sweet Charity, I am not sure anyone can beat this fantastic show and perfect cast. Norbert pretty much has his name already engraved into it.

Lottery Tickets are when you go to a show the day of.. and about.. 2 hrs before the show.. you enter your name in a draw.. and if you win.. you get. 1/2 tickets for.. $20-$30.. it's only lucky if you get picked.. cause there's always lots of people going for the lottery tickets

Yeah, most of the names I didn't recognize. There were a couple though: Laura Linney, Norbert Leo Butz, Matthew Morrison, Christina Applegate. I can't believe Norbert and Matthew are going against each other. I love them both...
BTW ^^ I didn't know about the lotteries... But I doubt that I would ever do that since I always end up going with everyone in my family (there's 4 of us).

That's what we were afraid of too so we bought tickets as soon as we could, which is obviously hard when you're not sure when you're going... I think we actually ended up getting pretty decent ones for the lowest price range (which is still ridiculously expensive..) I'm not sure if they do a lottery, I think it may just be standing room.. is that worse? better maybe? I'm still gonna hold out on my opinion of Christina...we shall we, we shall see. But I'm really excited to see Victoria Clark - I have heard nothing but AMAZING things about her.

You're right, it is standing room at Spamalot....I must have been confused with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. In any case - yay! Standing room is waaaay better than lottery, I will definitely get tickets now. I don't care if I have to line up at 6 a.m. I think rush seats or standing room are better than lottery, at least with them it's the people that really want to see the show and are willing to put the time in that end up getting to see it! Now I just have to convince my friend that standing through the show is okay...

He was amazing and SO DESERVED the nomination. I'd never even heard of him before I saw Spamalot (although I found out afterwards that he was in thaty awesome eBay commercial), but he was SO GOOD. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't win and I'm also expecting him to be nommed and win for the Tonys.
