Ugh...she didn't want to do Evita b/c of living in London, but s he'll do wicked?! ARGH! 8( Perhaps the contracts where different, Like maybe Evita wanted to contract her for a much longer period then she wanted to live in London. OR ... maybe she knew she'd be doing Wicked there and that was just the excuse given to defray the rumours of her playing Eva.

Perhaps the contracts where different, Like maybe Evita wanted to contract her for a much longer period then she wanted to live in London. I'd say that's about right. What I hear on the grapevine is that she'll play until Christmas - a very short contract. Most standard contracts are for a year, sometimes inclusive of rehearsal periods. I can't see the producers of Evita offering that same (and apparently necessary) short contract. There's a lot more value in Idina reprising a Tony-winning performance than a mere Tony winner appearing in another role - enough that'll make opening the show with a star in a very limited engagement a viable option. Her appearance will make sure that the crucial first months are packed in terms of audience attendance in a season of juggernauts. And, honestly, if Idina was destined to show up on the West End this coming season, I'm glad its in a show that's right for her. I don't Eva Peron is a role that she should be anywhere near, at least for now. MiladyDeWinter

Still trying to persuade mum to buy me tickets for my birthday....it's a special birthday.....so it deserves to be fun lol. My friend's mum and dad surprised her with tickets for her 16th today....I'm a tad jealous hehe. I realise that London is quite far to go for a show and it would be expensive....but we can't help dreaming hehe. YAY! 500th POST!!!!!! WOOOOOP WOOOOOOP FINALLY!

I know that area well. You're not going to be too far from Niagara Falls... should go check it out. St. Catherines is between Toronto & Niagara.
