I was reading in wikipedia that they have cut "If not for me for her" from the show. Someone can confirm? Why did they do that? Don't tell me that those 2 minutes where Marian asks Walter to forgive her could not fit in the show!! It's quite a short piece (if we assume that they have not cut the whole casino scene and so on) but very significant IMO. *is quite angry*

Yes, they cut the song. I saw the show last Friday and it´s completely different than the original production.

The set is changed is some scenes. A few songs have changed a bit of have different lyrics. Marian tell Walter that she loves him and they kiss. At the end Walter wants to go on with Marian, but she wants him to go on with Laura. Walter and Laura get married at the end.
I didn´t like the changes. The whole dark feeling of the show is gone.

Here we go, another great European show cut up and half-destroyed during its migration to America...
And I don't understand ALW sometimes. I just REALLY don't...

NO WAY!! Why do they have to make such unnecessary changes??

Well, that seems to be pretty normal for all shows, so I won't comment. That's pretty useless... Walter should already have guessed that Marian loves him, and I find the scene in the asylum, where she begins to tell him about her feelings but is cut out by the nurse to be very moving. This is only implied in the Original show. Walter sings something along the lines of "how can I leave you after all we've shared, we are different now, our worlds have changed". Maybe someone in the audience didn't get the point and the authors wanted to make it clearer?? I hope that doesn't mean the the last scene is different!! I can't agree more... Wow, that was a nice cut&paste post from me..

Here we go, another great European show cut up and half-destroyed during its migration to America... And I don't understand ALW sometimes. I just REALLY don't... Well all of his shows change in USA. Common examples are "Cats", POTO, "Sunset" and "Song & Dance". The only show that hasn't changed was "Jesus Christ Superstar" except one song "Could We Start Again Please".

Well all of his shows change in USA. The reason why I really don't understand ALW sometimes. To me, none of his shows actually changed for good when they moved from the West End to Bway. They're either really unnecessary changes, or they're plain absurd changes.

When I saw it, with the original cast - well not the original, but it was the original minus Michael Crawford and plus Michael Ball - they had the full thing - If not for me, for her was definitely in it.
O and I got to meet Michael Ball in person, well just go up to him and say and got his autograph
