I'll be in London next week and have the tuesday night to see a show...I'm not sure whether to see Les Mis or Wicked, something I know I will enjoy...or get a ticket for this new, unknown musical...what a dilemma! Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? Times like this a magic 8 ball comes in handy. Well. Drew Sarich is enough reason alone to go see Les Mis... But Wicked kicks ass. However you may want to check out some reviews of this show maybe to get an insight of whether it's good or not. Your choice.

Any thoughts? Skip all three and see "Brief Encounter" or "The Harder They Come" instead. Both are absolutely amazing.

Sounds like a strong cast but it just doesn't capture my interest as much as les mis or Miss saigon. Maybe I need to hear a few numbers from it.

Don't forget the music/lyrics are not by Boublil & Schoenberg! Personally I found the show boring, it was quite slow-paced. The story does have promise but just not the way it was shown on stage. Most of the songs were ballads so lacked variety.
But base your decision on the type of music and type of shows you prefer seeing! If you fancy something different, try 'The 39 Steps'! Not a musical but a comedy thriller, I haven't seen it in the West End but did at my local theatre recently and it was so much fun; haven't laughed that much in ages:)

My girlfriend was kind enough to send me a copy of the CD wich is already available at the Theater, and I must say this is by far the most interesting Boublil & Schönberg musical. It's not perfect, but its not as boring as Les Miserables nor Miss Saigon. The music however, while having some very catchy tunes like "Intoxication" and "What's Left Of Love" lacks a lot of power. This was the kind of thing Boublil could have done, the orchestrations. Because often in the CD you hear some pleasent parts but poorly orchestrated. Anyway...its pretty interesting ;D

I'm just gonna get it off iTunes. I couldn't be bothered ordering it. Hoping it's worth £7.99...

I personally loved the cast recording. I thought it was beautiful. Between the lyrics, music and vocals I found it very powerful.

I must admit I am pretty curious to hear this new show, even if I am not such a big fan of other Boubil - Schoenberg musicals... I like both Les Mis and Miss Saigon, but I don't love them. If only I could get my hands on a cheap copy of the recording...

I gotta say, folks, Marguerite is THE hot ticket in town.
How hot is it?
So hot that I can get freebies on a Saturday night in August (read: prime tourist days)
