Yesterday there was a musical gala in Miskolc with several Vámpírok Bálja cast members, and the Miskolc TV had a nice reportage of it with some interviews and, most interestingly, nice long video clips from the musical itself. (Well, the interviews are interesting too, but maybe not so much if you don't understand Hungarian.) With Egyházi Géza, Sánta László, Kamarás Máté, Nádorfi Krisztina and Kecskés Timea. You can watch it online. Quite lovely! mikom.hu/mivt.php?fi=a16585Cool video, thanks! Laci's quote about Alfred ("szóval béna, lúzer") was hilarious! ;D So is the Finale with Mate and his alternative choreography!

I found Laci's interview adorable, too. He's so sweet. And dreadfully cute in Alfred costume. ;D Listening to these is a good way to practice my Hungarian. I'm proud of how much I understand!
And Máté is the most adorable Herbert ever. Pirgel Dávid is still my favourite (I like my Herberts bratty), but Máté is a close second.

They announced the new cast of Vámpírok Bálja today (starting from June 2009): www.vampirokbalja.hu/index1.php --> A darabról --> Szereplõk Ákos Tihanyi will no longer be Black...

I'll miss Ákos, too. And Dániel Rákász and Dóra Stróbel, I only managed to see Dóra once as Magda and I liked her better than Tímea.
But at least Sándor Nagy and Pál Feke aren't there anymore and Géza Egyházi on the other hand is, which makes Cia and her theatre tickets very very happy. ;D
(Uh, I hope I got all the accent marks right...)

You did, don't worry! And at least we get a new Krolock (Gabor Bot, currently understudy Chagal and Nightmare I.), Alfred and Sarah and other new actors, actresses and dancers, which is always exciting! By the way, Dóra will play Magda in the Vienna revival if the rumours are true.

I'm also interested to see how Gabor Bot will be as Krolock. He sounds good in concert clips and he's the first actor I've seen who has managed to make "Eine schöne Tochter ist ein Segen" a truly interesting song and scene, so I have high hopes of his vampire count.

At least I only saw him in the one show I saw alone, when the rest of you had gone back to Finland. Up to then we always had Pavletits Béla as Chagal. I wasn't too fond of Gábor's Chagal, to be honest, but I liked him loads in the Musical Plusz concert in February, and when he was duetting Die Unstillbare Gier with Géza, I was asking "Why didn't they cast him as second Krolock? That'd have made much more sense than Nagy Sándor or Feke Pál." I'm glad someone heard me for once. Ooh, the rumours about Dóra playing Magda in Vienna make me very happy. I loved her Magda the one time I saw her. I hope it will turn out to be true!

*blinks* I don't think you've seen Gábor as Chagal? I haven't? Okay then, I remembered that he was the 1st cast actor. I can't remember anymore which minor character actor I've seen and which not, especially with Chagals and Professors who look very much the same, no matter which actor under the masses of beard and make-up is. (Hungarians should use a bigger variety of names, really. )

(Hungarians should use a bigger variety of names, really. ) Hey, c'mon, at least neither of them are called Attila or László! It shouldn't be that confusing! Gábor's always been the second cast Chagal and we always had the first cast, as in most roles. I'm sure that when I did see him, it was the first time. I can't keep anything useful in my head like "What did my colleague tell me half an hour ago I should do?" but cast lists still stick there awfully well. Anyway, I didn't think terribly much of Gábor's Chagal, but that's just probably not his kind of role. He seems like he'd make a decent Krolock. At least he's vocally much better suited for the role than the second Krolocks they used to have, and is more the right sort of age group.

Great, then I can ask you if I some day need to know who I saw in Szentivánéji álom and Rómeó és Júlia. I keep forgetting who was on stage and who I have only seen on videos, and I keep mixing up your new-found cute boys. I suck at remembering names, for some reason especially Hungarian.

Great, then I can ask you if I some day need to know who I saw in Szentivánéji álom and Rómeó és Júlia. Yes, I could give you a full list right now if you needed it. I usually have an excellent memory for names and words (though knowing where the accents go in Hungarian always takes some time to learn), but on the other hand I suck at remembering faces. Musical-actor-spotting has improved my facial memory a lot, but it still frequently happens to me that someone greets me and I've no idea who it is and where I'm supposed to have met them before though they clearly know who I am. Particularly annoying when it's clear I should know them from work-related contexts and it'd be both practical and polite to remember them. Hehe, maybe I need to write up a guide to Valancy's Cute Boys.

www.vampirokbalja.com/letoltesek.htmlThere are now new songs from some of the new (and old) second cast. Totale Finsternis by Bot Gábor and Kovács Nikolett, Die Unstillbare Gier by Bot Gábor, and Tot zu sein ist komisch by Sári Eva. Gorgeous! I think I might need a ticket for a show with second cast people...

Hey Valancy, am curious what you thought of the performers that you saw for the first time this summer. Do you have some mini-review?

Ah, I knew there's something I meant to do! I've got a review of the first show pretty much ready, so I'll post that later today. I still need to write reviews for other shows I saw, but I'll post them when I get them written.
