I´ve been to Elisabeth in Stuttgart last weekend. What should I say? I loved the musical in Essen and I´ve seen it there very very often so I remembered every little detail. Before we went to the show we talked to some friends who already seen it now in Stuttgart but also in Essen and they mentioned there would be a few some changes! So we were more than curious what we´ll see!!
We had the main cast except of Lucheni: Nico Gaik and Rudolph: Ross Antony (he´s from the german Popband Bro´sis). The prologue was quite the same as in Essen but the spoken part between the judge & Lucheni was recorded new. Then every scene was changed at least a bit!! Unbelieveable!! They even changed the characters especially by Tod! He´s so cold if not to say a bit of cruel and you can´t see that he´s in love with Elisabeth and wants to be with her!!! The choreographics are changed. The special scene when little Sophie died was very special in Essen but now in Stuttgart Tod comes in with a little childrens coffin!!
Olegg Vynnyk is a very good singer but he got no charisma, no erotic! Maike Boerdam sang horrible and acted very childish. Ivar Helgason was very boring! I know Franz-Joseph isn´t the most interesting role but in Essen André Bauer gave life to it!! My favourites that evening were Michael Flöth as Max; Susan Rigvava-Dumas as Sophie and Ross Antony as Rudolph.
The most disappointing scene of the show was the end when Elisabeth is sitting in the left corner of the stage after being stabbed and Tod comes down at the right side of the stage. He doesn´t even looks at her- he looks into the audiance and tells (who? the woman in the 3rd row??) Elisabeth that he´d be happy to have her now!!!
Hm, if I ever will see it again will I hope for the alternate cast but I don´t think it´ll happen too soon.
