Though it may be old news to some but The Scarlet Pimpernel is being done by the Hoshigumi(Star Troupe), of Takarazuka with Aran Kei as Sir Percy. More casting and photos are still in working progress but it seems that Frank Wildhorn seems to love Japan ever since he wrote Never Say Goodbye for Takarazuka last year.

As it turns out(as I just figured): There is a new song written for the Percy Character(that you can see at the promotional video that aired on Japanese TV), that Nan had nothing to do lyrically(it was newly written for only this version of the show). You can find out more at the Forums Wildhorn has for his shows or by watching the Promotional Video from the Japanese Official Site. Besides the new song, The Riddle was also performed as well. I just hope Into The Fire doesn't get removed from the score or I'll Forget You(knowing Takarazuka's policies on letting the spotlight on the female leads than their Otokoyaku counterparts).

I love this musical and I hope it goes successful abroad(though an idea of all women like Elisabeth is...strange).
By the way, has this Musical went elsewhere besides Broadway, National Tour and Japan?

By the way, has this Musical went elsewhere besides Broadway, National Tour and Japan? There are a couple of German recordings of it, one made in Halle, Germany and one in Austria. It's also going to premiere in Hungary this summer (and I hope they make a recording). It has even been in Finland but I didn't see it and naturally there isn't a recording of it.

It was in Tampere in the early 2000s, I'm not entirely sure of the year. I saw it, it was quite enjoyable, though as usual the translation wasn't too great and some of the cast members could have been better singers.

The PosterAnd I'll just repeat what Nene said in the title of show topic since I can't believe no one is a bit excited, : I am going to end up spamming this thread if no one else joins in! Come on, you know you'd love it, it's targeted towards rabid theatre fans!

I'm curious about the production...BUT as I've told you...I would prefer if they had choosed Dracula or Jekyll & Hyde instead

I believe that Scarlet is more of a musical that most fans must've forgotten since it didn't last long on Broadway but its still tweaking elsewhere.

Scarlet to me has one problem...it has no script...I mean...look how many versions it has! Wildhorn hasn't been able to get the script right...and in Japan he goes and is changing it again...that doesn't help a show to get loved and knowed by the people....so either you love the show to death, or you loose interest in it soon with so many changes.

But it has a script! It has at least five! I like SP. I just like it less than other Wildhorn shows because it's less dark and sort of, I don't know, simpler in the ideas and characters. For me there's less to digest there, less to be fascinated with, so it hasn't held my interest as long. But it's a good show.

Wow. They look amazing. I'm actually really curious in this, it beats doing Elisabeth over and over. I hope it goes well.

A clip from the show, ;D ;D! www.tca-pictures.net/scarlet/mv07.htmlIt seems as though this new song written for Percy is meant to be Takarazuka's beginning song since they want more time for the leading male character(but "Storybook" is still there, its just that its not the opening song as usual). Also, I love that Guillotine! Its amazingly done and it gets better, not all of the songs is cut and I think that's Believe as the wedding song and not You Are My Home. There will be a DVD and CD release so stay tuned. ***EDIT*** New songs especially the dropped song that was from the concept is in this one "Our Separate Ways" and a totally new one for Act II is called "Days of Glory". Another change is that "I'll Forget You" is in Act I right before "The Riddle" and "You Are My Home" is the Wedding Song(my guess is that "Believe" wasn't "Pure, Proper and Beautiful" for them). Also there are story changes such as that "we" already know Percy was the Pimpernel instead of right after "Prayer" and during the Bounders Scene as usual.

I'm curious for the DVD. And I'm glad they didn't choped of the Guillotine and actually puted one on stage unlike the Halle version. Now just the head comming of is missing... I guess Sweeney Todd is something Takarazuka will never stage lol ;D
