Effective tomorrow, no one can carry food out of the cafeteria. Yet I bought the tupperware I use to collect my dinner on Saturdays and Sundays from the case below the cash register. They have seen me carry food out in that tupperware tray every Saturday and Sunday since freshman year (I'm a senior). Why can't I carry food out in the tupperware tray I bought from them? Do they honestly think I have the money to buy fast food downtown (it's expensive in this town) or the Collegian Grill (on campus "fast food".....but way overpriced)? I don't even have money to pay my tution!
In case you can't tell, I'm pissed off.

Ah, the joys of college.
I'm sorry they are being stupid. Maybe you could write a letter to housing? If you know other people who are upset by this as well, get them to also write letters. Did they give a good reason as to why they changed the policy? They can't be loosing much money. If there's left over food they're just going to throw it away (or recycle it, lol).
The first school I went to was like that. I just spent any money I had coming to me from family on food. The problem I had was that the cafeteria was only open for certain hours and I was always away at the theatre that was across town. I spent more money on food and the bus than I should have.
I think all colleges have a mission to drain as much money out of the students as they can.

Oh, it's not housing. We're fed by Aramark, a catering company. Residence Life has nothing to do with it.
Yeah, I'm kinda "stealing" my dinner from them (Saturdays and Sundays, when they don't serve but one meal) when I get a days worth of food at brunch and pack up what I can't eat. I just have to be sneakier about it now.
