Joop van den Ende has announced that Rebecca will have its Dutch premiere in spring 2010. Of course a tour production, and Pia Douwes is supposed to play Mrs Danvers. ("Joop van den Ende wants to get Pia Douwes for a leading role" - I guess she won't speel 'Ik' ) Found on musicalzentrale.de

Aparently that was still a rumour. Michael Kunze knows nothing about that possible production. www.storyarchitekt.com/dialog/dialog.php?expand=435&PHPSESSID=0f472584fd65acc1abf5069c61e953a0I DO HOPE it comes true though. And that they have a Cast as great as they had in Sunset Boulevard ;D (me thinks it's time to start planning a trip to Holland). And I'm not surprised the show gets so many new stagings so fast...it's what happens when a show has QUALITY which lacks in 95% of new B'way shows nowadays.

The tour sounds like a smart move - it'll let them maximize interest and attendance.
It would be great to finally get Pia in the role. I would love to see Céline Purcell as "Ich" and Marleen van der Loo as Beatrice/cover Mrs. Danvers, maybe Jeroen Phaff as Maxim... yeah. That'd be sweet.

juhu!!! I have to see that! Marjolein Touw or SImone KLeinsma perhaps as Mrs. Van Hopper? Marleen als Beatrice is also a good Idea.

I had merely wondered if Rebecca would be able to tour because of the massive set used in the Vienna version, but either they've figured out a way to make that beast portable or, more likely, they're using a different design.

They'll just need to do it like they did with Sunset Boulevard. They used a very cleaver set design that kept the visual greatness but made it portable Besides, the show doesn't need huge sets to work. As for Simone as Van Hopper...I don't know...I've grown so acostumed to her as Norma Desmond that see her as Van Hopper would be a bit laughable (even though that's the idea lol). It's like Carin as Larish in Rudolf. I simply can't detach her from Van Hopper ;D

But at the other hand Mrs. Van Hopper isn't a leading role, and after such a brilliant role as Norma... I think Wim van den Driessche (elisabeth, les miserables) could be a very good Favell. I thought the decor of sunset was superb! Rebecca's decor could also work out very well in a tour production, I think.
