Very sad. But a great run for such a small show.

I haven't seen it in years, but I feel sad hearing this! What a great little show.

Hey, I think 1 year is a good run for a show! This ran for 6!
Not bad at all.

god, this show went on for too long. haha
in my opinion - it lasted way longer than it "should have" but that's just because i'm STILL mad // confused that it won Best Musical over WICKED.. oh well. haha

AVENUE Q beat WICKED for Best Musical(Tony Award)...If AVENUE Q is closing does that mean WICKED will close soon too?

AVENUE Q beat WICKED for Best Musical(Tony Award)...If AVENUE Q is closing does that mean WICKED will close soon too? Not necessarily. Throughly Modern Millie beat Mamma Mia for Best Musical. Millie has been closed for quite a few years & Mamma Mia is still open.

AVENUE Q beat WICKED for Best Musical(Tony Award)...If AVENUE Q is closing does that mean WICKED will close soon too? I doubt Wicked will close any time soon. It is a family show, therefore its potential audience is a great deal larger than that of Avenue Q.

Unless... I dunno, the Gershwin blows up - Wicked won't be closing. It's still the top best seller on Broadway... It's basically Sold Out every single performance.

And as much as Wicked haters may not like this... it has reached phenomenon status. I'd say it could possibly have another decade or so in it.

Uck! That stinks for me! My mom said I'm STILL not old enough to see it, so I'll have to wait for a revival!
This show beat Wicked for Best Musical...Does that mean Wicked might close soon too?

^Please read the thread, we commented on this fact.
Let me repeat in a different way: Wicked is a large scale musical. It has a demographic that is much larger than that of Avenue Q. Wicked will not be closing anytime soon.
