I don't know if non-Facebook-users can see that, but here's the same thing on a totally public website: musicalinfo.hu/index.php?cikk=1036 It's the audition notice for the production. I believe it's a concert version that's going to take place in the summer in an outdoors theatre, but I might be mistaken about that. It may be the reason why there are relatively few Vámpírok Bálja performances, though, if the creative team is busy rehearsing Chess. I'm very interested to see what will come out of this and who will be cast. :-)

The complete cast list has just been posted on the official Facebook page of the production. Anatoly Sergievsky: Egyházi Géza / Bot Gábor Florence Vassy: Sári Éva / Kecskés Tímea Frederick Trumper: Szemenyei János / Csordás Levente Alexander Molokov: Gábor Géza / Csórics Balázs Svetlana Sergievsky: Kecskés Tímea / Koós Réka Bíró: Kiss Ernő Zsolt / Bot Gábor Walter de Courcy: Pavletits Béla Leonyid Viigand: Varga Viktor / Jenei Gábor Nagykövet: Sándor Dávid Polgármester: Fejszés Attila Diplomaták, csapattagok: Jenei Gábor, Szentirmai Zsolt, Magyar Bálint Riporterek: Nyári Darinka, Ajtai Beáta, Debreczeni Márta, Kovács Réka, Fekete Kovács Vera Táncosok: Szabó Anikó, Taródi Szilvia, Szilágyi Erzsébet, Sallak Petra, Túri Lajos, Ködmen Krisztián, Csepi Ádám, Sólya Ádám, Répás Máté Yeah, you can tell it's the same production company as Tanz - not only are the Krolocks alternating as Anatoly and Magdas as Florence, most of the other cast and the ensemble are from Tanz, too. Good, though, those people are fantastically talented and deserve more opportunities! I'm particularly happy about Géza and Gábor as Anatoly and about Éva as Florence. The production also has a gorgeous website here: sakk.psprodukcio.com/ The cast list isn't posted on the website yet as I write, but I assume it will be updated soon.

I'd love to hear "Pity the Child" and "One Night in Bangkok" by Szemenyei János. I wish he did Alfred more. I love the clips of him on Youtube. His "Oerte" was not completely in character but the delivery itself was jaw-droppingly beautiful.

He has a good voice, but I didn't find him Alfred-like at all, on the few video clips I've seen. I don't wonder he doesn't play the role anymore. Maybe Freddy will suit him better; I'm glad they got someone with a good voice, rather than a "rock-voice" type (as they say) who'd just scream it through.
Anyway, he hasn't been on the cast list for two years, so he's not going to "do Alfred" more.

I can't wait to see & hear the production! I've heard Géza and Tímea sing some of the songs in a concert and they sounded great. According to this website, the production will be performed as a guest production in Magyar Színház from October on. I don't know the details, for example how often they have the performances, but it's nice if they get to perform it more often than just on the breaks of Magyar Színház like they have had to do with Tanz der Vampire.

You can see some gorgeous costume designs by Kentaur here: sakk.psprodukcio.com/galeria/galeria_01.htmlThey've also posted the cast list for the August performances. Predictably, it's only the first cast for both. I think the second cast will start performing when they move the show into the Magyar Színház in the autumn. (And I guess this is mainly interesting to me, but I've been happy to note they've suddenly added Pásztor Ádám, one of the Hungarian Alfreds, into the ensemble, the "diplomátok, csapattágok" bit. Magyar Bálint, on the other hand, is no longer listed there; I think the change must be very recent because I couldn't spot Ádám in the rehearsal pics that were also recently posted on the website.)

I was today in their press conference where they performed the last 20 minutes of the musical, about four songs. It was a rehearsal with a piano, and it gave me goosebumps. They've got a huge choir in the background, and it and the leading actors sound awesome. From what I could see of the choreographies and other stuff, the production will be great. On the production's homepage (Letöltések) there are demos of Nobody's Side and Heaven Help My Heart sung by Éva Sári.

I saw it and I adored it. Again the same thing as with their Tanz der Vampire: every detail works perfectly, everything has been thought of, and they have an excellent sense of style and art. I had goosebumps through most of the show. The actors were great, the ensemble was great, the dancers, the orchestra and the huge choir, everything. The sets are very simple, basically just a screen and a big chess board on which most of the action takes place. The orchestra and the choir are on stage, too, and the choir sounded almost demonically good. The costumes are stylish, and definitely check out the chess figure costumes. The next three performances will be in Pesti Magyar Színház on 30 & 31 October and my heart is bleeding at the thought that I can't see them. There's a lot of material on the production's Facebook page (for example videos), but here are some of the links too: Dress rehearsal photos on the summer theatre's FB page (with Levente Csordás as Freddie) Viva la Musical! interviews and clips and photosLots of photos in Zene.huSome nice stuff like rehearsal photos and videos and demos on the production's website.

A lovely new video medley. The selections in this one are better than in the previous video medley they posted, I think, and it has Szemenyei János rather than Csordás Levente as Freddie. This still seems to be from the Margitsziget performances in the summer, since Varga Viktor is playing Viigand - in the Magyar Színház performances he has been replaced by Mihálka Gyuri. There will be performances again this month, I wish I could go...
