Many of you may know already that the Salzburg Marionette Theatre has a very special version of R&H's The Sound of Music. www.marionetten.at/marionetten09/repertoire/stucke/the-sound-of-music-englishIt's truly magical and my only regret is that there seems to be no audio recording of it available. It's such a pity because Christiane Noll's portrayal of Maria leaves me in awe. Have any of you come across any audios of this production? Please consider sharing or alert me to any of your leads.

Thank you for the link! Some years ago I was at Bodensee and somewhere there would have been marionett opera. I somehow didn't have time to see it, but the idea seemed great and it has stayed in my mind. I didn't know there are also musicals done like that. How do they do it, as playback or is there someone singing live while the puppets move?

I´ve just read an article about this. It´s in the topical "musicals" magazine. They wrote the theatre uses a full playback. It´s the first musical they play but for 2 years already. And because it´s succesful they plan a second musical.
