Kunze likes Uwe in the role.
I'm hopping they did what the producers listen to their wishes as much as the hungarians listened to Kunze's opposition towards Kata Janza as Danvers...it's bad enough to have Maya Haakvort as Danvers in St.Gallen...

You know, I fully understand Kunze and Levay being attached to the actor they originally chose to incorporate Death, and later Maxim, and perhaps be irritated enough by the exaggerations of Uwe-bashers that they want to defend him; but I'm still surprised that as professionals of music they don't hear how badly his voice has gone down over the years. If someone can't hold his notes then he can't, and the quality of his voice is far from pleasant, even his fans admit that nowadays (at least the one's I've spoken to). I don't really think that insisting on his being cast is any sort of a favour to Uwe anymore, because it will just make the anti-Uwe voices louder, and expose the destruction of his voice to a larger and larger public.
He has learned to be a good actor, though, and I liked his Maxim on stage despite his vocal difficulties, but those vocal difficulties have become worse since, so I think it would be better if he didn't do musicals anymore. And really, does every musical have to have Uwe and Pia? I'm curious about Pia as Danvers, but I could do without Uwe, already because I'm still looking for a Maxim I really really like and every new production would be a possibility to find one if they don't go on and use the old ones.

Indeed. And while I could understand Pia (after all she was Kunze's choice for the role in Vienna and only SE prevented that from happening), Uwe is just incomprehensible. I do hope they get a good Cast in Stuttgart. I just wonder how many of the original vienna cast members will they get (being Carsten Lepper the one I'm thinking of)

Exactly. Maybe they want to support him, but it will do more harm than good and I'm seriously shocked that they, of all the people in the world, can't understand it. You can add me to that group too. I'm Uwe's avid fan, but the last thing I want to see is him, casted as some major character, without having his throat fully and completely cured. Ya know, I'm not a freakin' massochist... It's not a favour by any mean. It will be the last fat nail to the coffin of his legend as a musical star. Let him on stage as Maxim and he is finished. Do they really wish him that kind of a disaster?

tell me they don't plan to have Uwe as Maxim. Tell me they don't, I beg ya. Tell me it's not true, Say it's just a story, Something on the news. Tell me it's not true, Though it's here before me, Say it's just a dream, Say it's just a scene, From an old movie of years ago... ;D

I read the castings are still taking place for the ENTIRE cast apart form Danvers. (which means Uwe was not casted...at least not yet.)
I guess in the end of this month, beginning of April they have the first round closed (granted they are doing more than one casting round. dunno how SE works)

Here's the press release: Do you have an online source to give? Sounds surprisingly humorous for Stage Entertainment, especially the parts about Uwe's love for kissing Pia. I mean, if they're making jokes about Uwe returning to the role, it might mean that it's definitely not going to happen, but if this is just made up by you or someone else, then I won't say anything yet. I remember one horrible April Fool's Day some years back when the news spread that Uwe will be the new Krolock in Berlin.

Do you have an online source to give? Well, a friend from the IUKC sent this to me, so I guess they got it straight from the horse's mouth. She also said, Kunze and Levay are adding a new song to the show for Maxim to sing, so I guess Madame La Mort will be playing the rôle, after all.
