I know he has done other shows (to be fair, I think both of his runs in B&tB were before TdV premiered in Stuttgart in 2000), but it's safe to say he spends way more time in that one show than out of it. If you're thinking of 3 Musketiers in Stuttgart, Kevin was the Duke of Buckingham. It was Stefan Poslovski as his butler (James.)

Or that. None of them is particularly important lol
Maybe he likes to play a lot the role even though he's not that good at it...I think Thomas was casted in Vienna as a way to get tickets sold...little they knew Drew would be so popular in the role (well they now know since they'll loose him for the Berlin production of TdV lol)

He must like playing it, no doubt, but to get back to my original point, I just could see why it could be tiresome for fans because of how few other roles he's taken on since 2000 or so. That's all. I'm pretty pleased about Drew heading up TdV in Berlin - he was refreshingly excellent in Vienna. I do feel bad for his fans who booked to see him in Sister Act, though, who won't get to see him now. VBW... yeah, I don't feel so sorry for them

I think Borchert is a decent choice - he comes off well in the press presentation clips on YouTube. His attitude is a variable, but if he's the type to get bored of a role, it's not surprising that he lost interest in TdV after eight million performances. (It's also not acceptable, and if he couldn't put on his big boy pants and do his job in Vienna, he should have left earlier or not done it in the first place.) Or not to take this role at all. How unprofessional is that, for Pete's sake? He is d**n talented, he has great voice, but he is sometimes a male version of La Carlotta. Sigh. I miss to see Kevin on stage without cape and fangs, really. And yes, it seems he got a life sentence in a crypt... Reply for Fantasma: I liked is Jekyll. The problem with J&H is that...they ARE the same person. Hyde is just the wild side of Jekyll. So a "Hyde on tranquillisers" is a pretty acceptable approach. Well, the problem is J&H are DIFFERENT ASPECTS of the doctor's personality. So when the cultural part behaves like the animal part with a tranquilizer dart stuck in the butt, something is wrong here. "Jekyll" is supposed to be this better part of Jekyll's personality, not just calmer. Back to Borchert as MAxim, there's something that irritates me in his rendition of that character, I just cant yet put my finger on it...

I've only seen a video of him on YouTube and heard the CD so I don't want to close completely my opinion on his Jekyll & Hyde. From what I've seen, I liked him. Maybe it's because you're used to see Uwe in the role? And Uwe is the kind of actor that shows off the feelings of the characters a lot. He leaves you little space to wander about the characters feelings. Thomas on the other hand doesn't play them so explicitly. From those Press Conference clips, IF they are anything to go by (they usually aren't) Thomas will play a more restrained and distant Maxim than Uwe. Which isn't good nor bad. Is different.

I certainly did not expect Borchert's Maxim to be identical with Uwe's. Of course their renditions of that role are different, as they, Uwe and Thomas, are different, with different approach. That's perfectly normal and highly approved And being restraint fits very well to the character of De Winter, an English gentleman, used to hide his feelings. So it's not that. But something irks me, and I don't know actually what is it. I would have to see more of Maxim de Borchert, I think.

Two new songs for Rebecca in Stuttgart: one will be "Zauberhaft natürlich", which will offer a glimpse of Maxim's heart, while the other will deal with Mrs. De Winter fighting against prejudices in Manderlay.

Not really new, "Zauberhaft natürlich" was written for the Japanese production. As for the new ensemble number it's likely they are using St. Gallen to test the Broadway script. They are writing new songs for Broadway. I however doubt that that ensemble song will bring anything useful...we already have an ensemble song about the new Mrs. de Winter.

I just don't understand...if Kerstin Ibald can keep playing Beatrice over and over again...why isn't Susan back to Danvers, at least in St. Gallen?! (rhetorical question)
