I totally agree with you. I almost spat my coffee when I read the title. Then I read the article and was a little more relieved...but not that much! I'll only be completely relieved when the 2012 cast is announced.

Could I please have a brief (English) synopsis of that story? Sorry, my knowledge German is pretty much nonexistent. All I've gathered thus far is we will be seeing a new production of Elisabeth next year? If so, I'm excited

All I've gathered thus far is we will be seeing a new production of Elisabeth next year? If so, I'm excited Yes, we will be seeing a new production next year, precisely in Vienna. And Martin Bruny, the author of the blog I've linked, being in the sadistic mood entitled one note in a way, suggesting that Uwe and Maya would play in thet new production of Eli. They will be not, and the note said about a promotional action of a newly opened hotel. As much as I love Uwe Kroeger as an artist I would not want to see him as Tod, since his voice is not getting any better. So thank you, Martin Bruny for shortening my life about few years due to stress ;P

Thank you! Yes, I've heard his voice is starting to go. Too bad, I really like the older stuff I've heard from him. And thank goodness Maya won't be returning. I was never very fond of her singing in Elisabeth (though Pia's Elisabeth has probably spoiled me )

Oh yeah, they did a livestream to present a Cast which isn't new at all...bah. Honestly, judging by the Tour CD, this revival will be far worse than the 2005 one....and we all know how I dislike Maya...shame =\

That live tour recording is a disaster. It's cheap-sounding, and the performance is dreadful. The new Korean recording puts it to shame.
I can't even begin to say how depressed this has made me. I was really hoping for a good, not-the-tour production.

Tell me about it...! Never was I so regretful of having bought a CD as with that Tour CD...
I would rather have the Korean Cast in Vienna even if they had to do the show in Korean instead of German, rather that this "Tour" Cast. And I was hopping they would get Drew to play Tod...but even there they managed to disappoint me...

I can't even begin to say how depressed this has made me. I was really hoping for a good, not-the-tour production. Same here... After having seen the 25th celebrations of Les Mis and Phantom I was hoping for something grand also for Elisabeth... A once in a lifetime experience, with star from the various productions, not a new run with a not-so-stellar cast...

I cannot BELIEVE the stunt that VBW has pulled. This is actually relatively offensive as it is a clear sell out. Van Dam can't sing this role, nor act it very well. Sorry to be so blunt, but the lack of specificity and craft is crazy. Say what you will about Douwes and Hakvoort, at least they worked with tremendous amounts of specificity. This is seriously insane. And is this going to be the same, terribly staged production as the tour? (I obviously feel several things).

This is seriously insane. Yup. A big anniversary of the one of their biggest and greatest productions and all they do is "have your revival, dear viewers, with a cast not that fresh, and f..k off". Sorry, that's disrespectful as hell. Kupfer is on board of this project, so it's highly probable that we'll see some variations of the tournee atrocious sets and ideas.
