Yes, there is going to be a The Color Purple musical. Mary Poppins is also coming over from London, and there is talk--this won't be ready for next season but I'll mention it nonetheless--of a The Apprentice musical. Yes, based on the reality show. Don't ask me; I have no idea. I must say it's a bit better than the idea of Spiderman: the Musical. Oh there's also going to be Shrek...although I don't know if that'll be next season or next next season either.

Almost every single other idea has been used.

Well maybe recycling ideas is hardly unexpected. I mean, as far as we know Shakespeare never wrote a play that was entirely an original idea. But I agree, some of this stuff is just really getting ridiculous.

I think the wedding singer looks like it might work out well. It could work as musical in my mind.
I'm actually really looking forward to it.
Then maybe Tale of two cities...I might like it better as a musical. *relied on sparknotes for that unit in english*

You can't recycle ideas from musicals or people will just say that your musical is ripped off from some other musical.

Jerry Springer: The Opera opened quite a while ago in London, and was quite successful - it's a dark comedy, and there are parts of it I found very funny (from the CD....didn't see it on stage). I'm curious to see how it will go over in New York.
And I CAN'T WAIT for Lestat to open!! I am actually considering going to San Francisco (? or was it San Diego? - wherever it's premiering), since I don't know if I can wait until it gets to New York. I hope they cast that show well!

I am pretty excited for this musical becaus it's the new Elton John's musical and I loved the lion king and Aida!!
