Jerry Springer: The Opera opened quite a while ago in London, and was quite successful - it's a dark comedy, and there are parts of it I found very funny (from the CD....didn't see it on stage). I'm curious to see how it will go over in New York. And I CAN'T WAIT for Lestat to open!! I am actually considering going to San Francisco (? or was it San Diego? - wherever it's premiering), since I don't know if I can wait until it gets to New York. I hope they cast that show well! The show was broadcast on TV here in Scotland and I have to say it really wasn't to my taste at all! It was also slated by the critics for all the swearing etc..............and it wasn't even put on after the watershed!

I knew he was doing Billy Elliot (which should have opened short ago)... Is he already working on another musical??

I knew he was doing Billy Elliot (which should have opened short ago)... Is he already working on another musical?? Yes, he's been concurrently working on the "Lestat" musical, based on the Anne Rice novels. It had a workshop about a year ago, with James Barbour playing Lestat. I've heard it will be more of the story from the novel "The Vampire Lestat" rather than "Interview with the Vampire", which is fine with me, 'cause I don't like Louis anyway.

I don't find Jerry Springer entertaining in the least, which is why I haven't made any effort to go see this show either, but the concept is an interesting one. Has anybody else seen it and have an opinion?

i really don't think it's a good idea.. it's going to be.. weird i think.. it makes me mad that people are resorting to.. Jerry Springer for new musicals... aren't people in the music feild supposed to be CREATIVE?

I meant something like Aladdin or Hercules. Yeah Hercules, That'd be really neat what with the gods and everything.

The little Mermaid..it would be like looking into an aquarium...and all the mermaids and mermen are flying around like Dracula.
