Has anyone seen/heard the show Nord-Ost? I just recently bought the highlights and so far I like it. I've only had the chance to listen through the cd once though. Any thoughts?

I've never heard of it! Would you mind telling me what it's about/what the music is like? Always love to hear a new show!

Well, it's a Russian musical based off of a Russian novel called "Two Captains" by Veniamin Kaverin Musically, it's more traditional sounding. Lighthearted and quite lovely actually. The cd I have actually has the song titles in English. I'm still researching it. I don't know Russian, so I'm a bit lost. Here are links to bits of information I found (in English) on the show, most of it concerns the terrorist attack during one of the performances... www.cdi.org/russia/johnson/7176-15.cfmwww.worldpress.org/Europe/979.cfmThere were a few other sites that had more information, but I can't seem to find them. I guess I forgot to bookmark them.

I was hoping to see it while in Russia, but it either isn't playing anymore, or they just didn't want to tell me that it was, both are equally possible given my experiences in Moscow. I haven't been able to find a lot of English information about it, but if anybody does come across some helpful links, please post them!

I've tried searches and have come up with nothing useful.

They archive pages across the internet and by entering the URL, you can view any archives they have of that page. You can try the URL from the CD here: www.archive.orgEven if the site isn't up anymore, you might still be able to view the archive of it!

Gee, I haven't been here in awhile. I did try that Wayback Machince, no luck. However... I am quite dense. I decided to try again today, and as I started typing I thought: "Why not try google this time." Went to google, typed "Nord-Ost" + musical... and behold, a site in english. First link too. I feel stupid. english.nordost.ru/So the moral of the story is, don't use yahoo, don't use aol, don't use well, anything but google....
