I just read from "Sound of music" that on the 8. September the double cd of Romeo & Julia will be released! ;D "With 31 songs and the whole song lyrics" (eheh... I feel myself like an ad!) Well worth to buy, especially if I do go to Vienna to see it...

Great! That's going to be near the top of my list. Although since I do have the highlights, I may wait to hear more about it. So someone please review it when they pick it up! I need to find another job, quick. I'm already on the verge of being broke, wonderful. ;D

Ehi! I'm offended!! No, actually, I'm not a "big" fan of the show (so, I'm not hysterical about it) but I really like it! (And I always think I should finally get the French recording.. ;D )

I saw exactly the same thing and I wish I've seen the show! I have never seen "Romeo & Julia"(or "Romeo & Juliette" for that matter) and never owned a cast recording.

Another one of my favorite "R&J" is Original French, Belgian, Russian and German. I despised the English one.

The Hungarian cast recording is very good too. My favorites probably go:
French Austrian Belgian Hungarian Netherlands English
Too bad there is no "official" recording of the Russian production.
Sincerely, Selenity

Actually I listen to the Hungarian more than the Austrian. Of course my favorite is the French, and like most of you I don't like the English.

There were shaky problems with the English R&J with translations but there were other musicals that were translated horribly like "Dance Of The Vampires"(even the change of some parts of the story, just enough to make me cringe) but I only listen to my favorite songs like the Steve Barton demo(almost like his Phantom in a way), and bits of Broadway.
