Lol Belgium and Portugal...our politicians are very fond of EU...even when the population starts to dislike it more and more. The defenition I gave was the one I was thought...I'm in the 2nd year of Law College...but...you said 6th year of international relations? That course here in Portugal is a 3 year course...the only course that has 6 years is Medicine.

Well, if we go by what the political elites think, then surely there are many more enthusiastic countries than Belgium, but generally the populations don't seem awfully into it.
Ah, Finnish universities aren't comparable to any others, I think. Maybe I shouldn't even try to explain. But basically, you can take as long as you wish to complete a particular course. I'm really only on my fourth year as I spent two years elsewhere (law school... *shudders* I always used to be good at all things school, but there I finally found something that I simply. cannot. do), but because I still did some IR studies then, too, I kind of count this as being my sixth year in IR.

Hmm I'm starting to thinking in moving to Finland! I have 4 years of Law School. Sure I can spend more time there, but the course is planed for 4 years, and there is a lot of burocracy if you don't follow the College plan...ahh the joys of Academic World in Portugal lool

The system is very flexible here, I'm very happy for that. The only thing that's likely to restrict you is the fact that at some point you'll run out of money, and that maybe you'll want to graduate eventually. And there's a government aid for students for which you have to study a certain amount of courses per year, but the required amount is fairly low - if you plan to complete a Master's Degree in, say, six years (the average time people take, I think), you have to study harder than that. Of course, currently there's a lot of discussion of how to make students graduate faster because they're taking so long to do it...
