Memoirs of a Geisha. YOU CAN NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!
The movie was good, a bit hard to get into, but once you did, it was very nice.
I just read Doubt yesterday, it is so good!

I might eventually pick up the book, but I don't intend to watch the movie... that Japanese culture is all wrong... the dances, kimonos, everything! Some people are even wearing their kimonos the wrong way... the way dead people are dressed for funerals!

Currently, I'm reading The Witching Hour by Anne Rice. It's entertaining. ...Aroo!??! Les Miserable is a "DONT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN book?!?! are you serious.. it's the.. most boring book for the first... million pages Boring? I've read it four times, and never have I found it boring in the least. It's my favorite book. Two recommendations for people who like, or would like to discover, Victor Hugo. Conversations With Eternity - We all knew he was a great classic writer, but who knew that he spoke to the spirits of the famous dead by turning his kitchen table upside down? Who knew that he tried to create a new religion, and is for this considered a saint by those who practice Cao Daoism? Seriously though, this book has some of the prettiest prose ever, and it's interesting to see Victor Hugo's thoughts on the metephysical. The Last Days of A Condemned Man - It's less than 100 pages, so if you found Les Miserables too long this is the book for you. It's about, as the title would suggest, the thoughts of a man during his last days on earth before being executed. It's chilling. Also, it was written before Les Miserables, and if you love Les Mis, you can see how many aspects of this story were later adapted as parts of Les Miserables.

I never read "Notre-Dame de Paris" or "les Misérables" which is a shame but I know very well the strory with all the movie and/or musicals that have been made!! It's like "Les trois Mousquetaires" (ok not written by Hugo but still it's a french classic) I never read it but I know the stroy very well!! I read only one book of Hugo : 93 which I really like it is set during the french revolution and I read Hernani and Ruy Blas but they are plays!!

I stopped reading LesMis few weeks ago. I like it so far but I haven't read much, actually. I have lots to do and decided I would go back to LesMis when I have more time and can enjoy it better

I might eventually pick up the book, but I don't intend to watch the movie... that Japanese culture is all wrong... the dances, kimonos, everything! Some people are even wearing their kimonos the wrong way... the way dead people are dressed for funerals! I read a lot about that. I imagine it being the equivelant of having a French accented man play a German charcter. The beauty of it all was amazing though (even if not accurate)

The beginning of Les Mis is alot, but it is necessary to show you the character of the Bishop, give him life.
