Right now I'm about to finish The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. LeGuin. Before that I read the scripts for Quills and The Pillowman (which I was lucky enough to see on Broadway). After I finish Left Hand, I'll probably start reading my copy of Michael Kunze's Highroad to the Stake, which has been sitting unread on my shelf for about six months.
As for the question of Wicked, I read it about a year ago after seeing the musical. I read it all in about a day, and found it a mediocre book. Maguire had some good ideas, and his storytelling was excellent at times, but his prose was muddled and he too frequently sacrificed story and character for morality and preaching. I'll read Son of a Witch at some point, but I have no desire to pay for it. Thank goodness for libraries?

I've finished Pygmalion yesterday. It was lovely--quite delightful I've seen the film My Fair Lady a few years before, and now I cannot accept that ending. I've seen Narnia a few hours ago It was great, maybe even more because I didn't really expect much. I'm not a person who insists on keeping small details and sticking perfectly to the original text, and loved the little bitty differnces. And the story was really well molded, soooo much better than the HP movies!! Oh, I liked the music pretty much too. Not the song during the hide-and-seek though...that just didn't fit the mood for me. Still, I'm going to get the special edition of the soundtrack. Until I get it, I'm not listening to any other music. (All right, I'm joking. But I won't listen to other music at least for today lol)
