I actually like Idina. Not my favorite and I really don't want her to be Florence, but she's still good. I like her on See What I Wanna See. If you don't like that type of belting then of course she's not going to sound good. But there are people out there who enjoy her. Please, don't stike me ! I didn't want to hurt Idina's fans, but , you know, sometimes you hear and read a lot of good things about artists you don't like and, one day, you have to say "Stop! I desagree with the common opinion, she(he) does not deserve so many compliments !" That's all ! I respect your taste and don't want you to change it.... Btw, I conceed she was quite good in "Rent" ans her voice fits well to Elphaba's character (even though I still hate the final of "Defying gravity")... It's not a question of "weird" voice : I don't think either that Sarah Brightman is the good singer people say, and is certainely one of the worst female actor ever ! To me, Carolee Carmello has a "weird" voice, but I love her performances in "Parade" and most of all, in "Lestat" ! ;D The power of a voice is not necessary standing in the number of decibels or the hight of the final note ! This is not a musical analysis of the quality of theirs voices, it's only the expression of the feelings I have when listening to them....

I have no intention of "striking you." I was just stating a different opinion and was a bit defensive. I feel we all need to be a little nicer in the ways we describe a perform because there are fans out there (I am quite guilty of saying not so pleasant things about a certain performer who has played Elisabeth). That is why I added the bit about not liking that kind of belting/people enjoying her.
