Got this info from an Italian friend, and thought I'll share: www.playbill.com/news/article/114097.htmlIf anyone is in London in that period, I wouldn't miss the chance to see Idina performing something else as Elphaba (as much as one can love Wicked, I think sometimes you need a bit of change). By the way, I also heard that the concert should be recorded by the BBC.

Not overly thrilled, but still happy that they are doing this.

Not thrilled about Idina in Chess though, . Her voice has went to Hades over the passing time and that whenever I see the Movie version of Rent and listen to the OBC for her Maureen, its kinda different.

Idina wouldn't have been my choice, but I would rather her than Elaine Paige.

Bad move - I adore Judy Kuhn . To be fair, though, I can see why someone wouldn't like her (and I don't think I did at first.) If I was doing the concert, Judy would have been high on my list of Florence. Come to think of it, I would have asked the entire list. It would have been great to have a bunch of former cast members in and have a diverse concert.

I wouldn't mind a mix of the OLC and OBC to come sing(I heard good things about the Danish cast but I am not sure myself), or the one from the Swedish Concert(but since those 2 are brother and sister I think they won't fit the story, ).

Well all except David Carroll since he is dead, . Wish we would have gotten more of him before then. From a stricltly vocal standpoint he's my favorite in that role. I adore Judy Kuhn as Florence. I wish they'd just find a way to produce a limited engagement of this show in either London or New York. They constantly are doing concerts of this show, it has a strong enough following for a short run.

I can't understand what you like in Idina Menzel's voice ? To me, it sounds like a screaming cat whose tail would be trapped in a door ! She spoiled completely the musical by La Chiusa "See what I wanna see" with her...voice ?!!

I have to agree with you, when she started as Maureen in RENT, her voice was good up until she did Wild Party and Wicked and she let her voice go to hell. You can hear a major difference between her OBC Maureen's voice and the Movie Maureen's voice, its that different.

I actually like Idina. Not my favorite and I really don't want her to be Florence, but she's still good. I like her on See What I Wanna See. If you don't like that type of belting then of course she's not going to sound good. But there are people out there who enjoy her.

I saw Idina as Elphaba and liked her, though it was earlier in the Broadway run, before her voice got tired. She has a weird voice, and I thought it suited the character. Better still, she didn't riff every last note in the score.
According to Kerry Ellis' website, she'll be performing in this concert, too. It doesn't say which role, but I'd presume she's playing Svetlana...
