I noticed that piece of news a while ago on Máté's fan website, and the official site for the production confirms the Herbert part, though doesn't say anything about Krolock. I'm not entirely sure what I think of the idea of Máté as Krolock, but as Herbert? Yaaay! I really want to find the money to go to Hungary, though it's difficult as I have enough foreign trips planned as it is... Mate doesn't seem like Krolock material.

Yes they're pretty cool...like the Polish ones. By the way, when will this be playing? (My sister is going to Hungary and I may take the excuse..)

From now (well, end of June already) till the beginning of September, and then again for the first couple of weeks of January. The exact dates are on the website.
I hope I'll get to see it, it looks and sounds really good. The costumes make me think like they've taken cues from both the Viennese/German and Polish costumes and then done it in their own style (and more stylishly than the Poles... sorry to say it, but their costumes looked rather cheap. Understandable, as they didn't have a large budget and apparently did very impressively with how little they had, but anyway, I'm glad the Hungarians were able to make it look more stylish). And they're the only ones besides the Viennese who've managed to dress Von Krolock stylishly. ;D
I hope the CD will come out soon, there's supposed to be one...

Great...I'll try to convince my parents to buy me a trip to Budapest. And yes, it would be great to have a CD...though I don't know the guy playing Von Krolock...(at least not by the name )

I don't know anyone in the cast except Máté, and the 2nd Von Krolock (Sándor Nagy, there are a decent amount of videoclips of him available on YouTube so I've got an idea of what he's like even if I haven't seen/heard him in any actual musical production). Since it's not done by the Operettszínház, looks like most people are not the people who've been in the best-known musical productions in Hungary (Elisabeth, R&J etc.). But the 1st Von Krolock has a great voice, I also like how their 1st Sarah sounds, everything looks great and I'm happy to get to know more talented Hungarian actors than the ones who always keep rotating in all the Operettszínház productions (as much as I adore them), so I'm quite excited about this. ;D My father already promised as a birthday present to buy me flights to either Berlin or Budapest, and I'm starting to feel I'll use it for Budapest. If I manage to go, I can only hope that the Operettszínház will be doing Elisabeth at the same time so I can see it as well. Though I'll see whatever they're performing at the moment if I get there.

oh, it is not a Operettszínház production? :\ Then I don't know...I fear the production quality...and I'm not willing to pay loads of money to get disapointed... (and before anyone askes, to me Maté is not at all a sign of quality to me). Perhaps I'll consider the option Berlin (were, at least I understand what their saying.)

From what I've seen on photos, soundclips and videos, the quality is better than in Berlin. Just my opinion, but for me the Berlin production seems too kitschy and the cast isn't the best one you could get, either. Besides, unlike VBW, Stage Entertainment apparently can't shorten the musical without making the result sound stupid. (I don't know if they have cut the songs in Hungary, though.)

They haven't cut whole songs, just single lines or some dialogues from here and there. For example in the finale of act 1 after the "Alfred, vermisst du nicht etwas?" / "Mein Schwamm!" part comes "Wer jung ist, wie du, und interessiert…" and so on, and Totale Finsternis is shorter, which they already made in Hamburg. It wouldn't be so bad if they would shorten TF logically, but they have just taken away random lines and you can hear that something is missing.

And also in the Japanese version Totale Finsternis was shortened. Altough as I've alreafy discussed with Valjean it would have made more sence to shorten Carpe Noctem/Fühl die Nacht

I trust that the Operettszínház, as much as I love their productions, isn't the only theatre in Hungary capable of producing good musicals. This looks and sounds wonderful so far.
I don't really see why anything has to be cut, but if they do it, they could at least do it so that it works and not just chop away random bits like in Berlin. I personally don't want anyone to touch Carpe Noctem - I love all nine and half minutes of it, and rarely have I ran into anyone who's seen the musical live complaining that it's too long, because the whole scene is darn impressive and it has a plot that needs its own time - though the 10th anniversary concert showed it can also be done so that it works. But there it makes sense they shortened it, since the whole thing was a shortened version. I just don't see why the musical needs to be cut anyway, especially to just save a few seconds here and there like they do with those cuts.

I agree on the part that its not understandable the action of cuting parts ramdomly. Would I cut somethings in Tanz? Yes I could, I would shorten Carpe Noctem and shorter or cut the final song "Tanz der Vampire" 'cause its just a dance song, and has nothing to do with the show...except the part of abronsius. But then again, I don't fancy does "disco-like" songs in Tanz. And I would shorten "Knoblauch" to since it irritates after a while. But then again...that's just me www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpYZVvD7G_4&NR=1Here for example...I like the voices. Von Krolock looks ok. Sarah is cute...but...is she arguing with Krolock? 'Cause it seems
