Thanks for the vids, ;D! I think we might possibly see a DVD release. Well, I don't think I would care much for it... The show is playing in Japan, but the actors are singing in German, and der Tod and Elisabeth are the same from the DVD. I would be more interested in buying a recording of a different cast...

Well, I don't know about other people, but I would buy such a DVD already just because it'd have Lukas as Rudolf, and Lukas and Máté as the Rudolf/Death combination. Because it's the one thing that bugs me to no end on the official DVD - I like most of the cast a lot, but I can't stand Fritz, and Rudolf is one of my favourite characters so I'd love to have a good DVD version where I could actually enjoy his scenes and where he'd have a good chemistry with Death.
Thanks for the links, Andreas! Maya's voice sounds lovely on the videoclips, by the way. Somehow I like her even better on these than on the official DVD, so there's another reason why a DVD release would actually make me very happy. Although of course, theatres often seem shoot video material for promotional purposes like this one without actually releasing it, so I wouldn't hope too much.

Well I wouldn't buy that DVD. The sets are the same, the cast is (with the exeption of Lukas) not as good as the one in the official DVD. So I wouldn't be interested in a new DVD with Maté and Maya again AND without Else Ludwig and Serkan. IF they staged the show in german, on the Takarazuka sets...well then it would be diferent.
By the way, why wasn't released a DVD of the 10th Anniversary Concert like the on of Les Miserables? :\

IF they staged the show in german, on the Takarazuka sets...well then it would be diferent. Different, yeah, but would there be much point to it? The Takarazuka sets can be seen on 5 different DVDs already, and I doubt the Vienna version would work with them too well. Those two versions are very different and the sets suit each production. I'm not saying that it wouldn't make more sense to release DVDs of some completely different version so people can actually see different ways the musical is done, just saying that if such a DVD was released, I would buy it. Not that the mere existence of professionally filmed footage makes it very likely there'll be a DVD release, as I said earlier. No idea. I wish they had. Especially since the CD leaves out some songs that were performed in the concert.

Yes they are the same as the DVD but its Lukas Perman that makes up for it and the Takarazuka portion of the Show with Shizuki Asato and Otori Rei. Maybe I've just been stupid and missed someone explaining this earlier on, but exactly what are the Takarazuka people going to do and how? Either way, well, not bad choices - Shizuki Asato is pretty darn cool and her paired up with a Sisi who does not make me want to tear my hair out and attack the TV screen would kind of rock. Agreed that Lukas Perman would make it worth buying. I already explained why, plus I think I just developed something of a fixation on him after seeing him as Alfred. That boy can act and sing like you totally wouldn't guess just by listening to his Romeo recording. My list of acceptable Alfreds consisted of approximately one person (Aris Sas) before I saw Lukas.

Oh the Takarazuka performers Shizuki Asato and Otori Rei are just going to perform key songs as seen on the clips:

No idea, all I know is that a pro-shot exists. Are you sure? Why isn't it on YouTube yet??? Lol kidding But seriously, I never saw any footaged of the 10th Anniversary...Why don't we make a petition to VBW to release it on DVD?

I think we might possibly see a DVD release. I fear we won't, but I hope that I'm mistaken. I'd definately buy that DVD, as Maya seems to be really better on that recordings and I'm also interested in seeing Bruno Grassini (is it actually him?) as Lucheni. Although he can't beat Serkan Kaya

Thanx! Andreas!!!! all videos you linked are really good!!!
Actually one of my very close friends have made a short trip to Osaka and I forced her to see Elisabeth for me lol and she did it.
She said it's really really welldone musical. she is also a musicalfreak though, not that interested in Elisabeth as much as I am. but I think she's not anymore She loved especially the sets and smoothly flowing story unfolding and she said actors are really incredible except Lucheni... all in all So wonderful !!!
I was just so happy when I heard this over the phone maybe because I've been wanted to see this so badly ;D ;D

Thanks for telling us what your friend said! Wonderful to hear someone's report of it - and I'm glad she enjoyed it and that the actors were so good! Even if it's a pity Serkan isn't Lucheni if Bruno Grassini isn't so good.

To each his own, but I saw Bruno three times in Stuttgart and thought he was terrific. I doubt there will be a commercial recording of this (they'll probably make a fortune hawking the Vienna DVD at the shows because it has the same leading pair), but I would welcome it for the chance to have a DVD of Bruno.
