Oh interesting. Any chance or word of a recording? It's a very small run, so any chance of a Recording will probably depend on the way the thing goes. I think I read something about a Promo coming out on the VBW site, but I don't seem able to find the article now.

Well, VBW have proven that they are also releasing CDs for the smallest productions, such as Die Habsburgerischen or Die Weberischen. Thus I think that it's not that unlikely that there will be a cast recording, if the show has a good run.

btw, I've just recognized that it's of course supposed to say "Spring" instead of "Sprink" in the title ^^

The mass number of unknowns should be no surprise to anybody familiar with the show - they try to cast it as young as possible and virtually the entire cast (barring the adults and one or two of the kid) will be making their professional debuts.
After just seeing the London production twice I'm on something of a kick for SA right now as well...wish I could make it to Vienna to see it there!

Yeah, I was actually surprised to notice Rasmus Borkowski's name there as I'd think he's much too old for Melchior's part! But maybe he'll work. I guess they need to have a famous name or two there to sell it. Yesterday I saw the production of this musical that opened in Budapest last week. I had no idea what to expect, but I actually was very, very impressed. Maybe I should make it a thread of its own...

Ah comm'on! They are being more Papal than the Pope! Sure there are sex scenes where people get naked on stage in the show but...SO WHAT? Haven't they watched TV in the last 10 years? Nudity is becomes pretty banalized, even here in Portugal, a ultra-conservative country, that I'm amazed people still get by some softcore scenes... I wonder what would they say if they staged Equus in Vienna then... ;D

Ahh, but you see, Equus would have played at one of the respectable theatres where people do these things all the time in the name of Art. SA is running at a musical house and those are supposed to be family friendly low end entertainment.
Funny enough, half of the Americans have ditched the Vienna production for the past few days to get the London transfer through tech rehearsal. I think they're going back after first preview tonight, though...

Hmm. There'll always be people who don't want to see certain things, the fact that a couple of such people post on public forums about it doesn't mean that all of the audience thinks that way. Anyway, when I saw the show here I found rather different things than nudity to get shocked over. Like, you know, all the violence and Moritz shooting himself in the mouth. But of course, strong violence is completely normal and okay as long as there is no evil nasty unnatural corrupting nudity!

of course, strong violence is completely normal and okay as long as there is no evil nasty unnatural corrupting nudity! True. I recently happened to read a glowing dispute between Americans and Europeans on youtube about Sarah bathing naked in Tanz der Vampire. I told them to cool down, since Sarah in Europe is wearing a skin-coloured suit during the tub scene. I knew that for sure because of a little "accident" occurred to Jessica Kessler during her run as Sarah in Hamburg. An (apparently very worried) American man wrote me a message, almost begging me to confirm what I had posted, since he would have strongly objected to a musical he could have taken his kids to showing gratuitous nudity. Now, I think that anyone considering Tanz der Vampire a musical to take small kids to should seriously reconsider his education methods, before worrying about someone bathing naked on a stage. Anyway, here's a clip of Frühlingserwachen in Vienna - ondemand.orf.at/bheute/player.php?id=wie&day=2009-03-21&offset=00:10:16

OMG, anyone who is offended by Sarah bathing naked on stage should rather stay at home and not even consider going to a theatre at all! "Gratutious nudity" in Tanz der Vampire, this is the most stupid thing I have ever heard...
