At last we've finished it! I'm sorry that I don't know how to upload a file here so I put it on our own Elisabeth fansite. bbs.elisabethism.net/attachment.php?aid=83Thanks to Stacy for the translations of the songs in 92 CD and give me this permission to use them. Thanks to our friends Magic Q and Geinie who translated the whole script of Wien and Essen version into Chinese. And thanks to Ridicully who finished the translation from Chinese to English based on the original Wien script. Also thanks to our friend wning12 who have made a Chinese subtitle earlier and then I don't need to care about the time line. Thank God I've finished the thank things ;D ;D You may first burn your DVD into avi files to add subtitle on it (at least I don't know how to add subtitle when you play DVD instead of AVI files). If you don't know how to do that, please google it. And maybe the software Vobsub is needed, I'm not quite sure about it. I really hope that it will help those who don't understand German to fall in love with this masterpiece and understand it well. But as it is a teamwork and neither German or English is our mother tongue, it is not a perfect translation. Please contact me if you find any problem in it. Any questions and suggestions are welcomed. My email is: CrystalWangJC@gmail.com At last, enjoy it and find the charm of Elisabeth.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Thanks very much!!! I am very excited to find the Wien 2005 English subtitles here, it must have taken you all a lot of time to make it. Now there will be no more language barrier to discourage music fans from appreciating the musical!

I was thinking of a Fansub project like this for foreign DVD musicals. There is one I saw in youtube the Japanese version of "Ai to Shi no Rondo" but the subtitles are not accurate. www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9YJiQhl8Co

Is there any possibility that the translation could be posted online at some point? I have no way of burning the dvd to add the subtitles.

Just out of curiosity, how did you handle the scenes with multiple rounds at once (ie the beginning of the wedding when everybody is dancing through the mirrors)? I had an utterly hellish experience when doing my own subtitle due to the technical limitations of srt and the DVD subtitle spec.

To Vivian I've post it on our site without starting a new topic, so maybe you've missed it.
To Nene If I have time in the next weeks, I'll try to make a complete Ger-Eng script.
To exedore Oh, that's a nightmare. Thank god that it was not me who make the fist time line. As I know, you should delete some unimportant words and give the main idea, and put 2~3 lines together. Maybe it will not be very accurate, but it is a subtitle not a translation. Sometime you must make it simple and easy

To Nene If I have time in the next weeks, I'll try to make a complete Ger-Eng script. Take your time. The longer I go without a complete translation the more reason I have to improve my German. And yay for Jo!! Glad to have you on board as a fan!

Just out of curiosity...
I translated the Essen production into English from the official Edition Butterfly book. How much interest would there be in an adaptation of that into the Vienna script? I'd time it all out and make it at least semi-singable to go with the DVD and post the translation when I was done.
