AHAAAA!!!!!
I was just thinking about this the other day when I just remember some material that was intended for the Phantom sequel BUT INSTEAD, used in the Beautiful game. If you seen or have the Andrew Lloyd Webber 50th birthday celebration (you know the one in the Royal Albert Hall). Well towards the end Kiri Te Kanawa comes out and sings a song, called "A heart is slow to learn". And to support my theory that this was intended for the Phantom sequel. a quote from amazon.
"Dame Kiri performs a song called "A heart is slow to learn", which belongs among the finest Lloyd Webber's ballads. It was initially intended to use it in a sequel of The Phantom of the opera", but in the year 2000, Webber used this melody with the changed lyrics for his musical "The beautiful game". Dame Kiri's soprano fits the melody perfectly."
I also recalled reading this like 4 years ago somewhere else. But this could be a taster of whats to come.

Yes when ALW himself introduced the song he said it was for the Phantom Sequel.
Sounds like that bit from Amazon is bang on.

He should have left it untouched, "The Heart Is Slow To Learn" was very beautiful song when "Our Kind Of Love" was terrible!!

Sorry to say this - I'm a big fan of hers - but she's too old to play the part! If the sequel is taking place about 10 years after the events of TPOTO, then Christine would be around her thirties. It takes a couple of years for the show to be finished - and Sarah Brightman is now 47... So a 50-year-old playing a 30-year old... We already have ANNIE GET YOUR GUN for that!

further to santtu's point ... I always thought Christine was younger? Like 16-18-ish

of course not. And if he composed directly to the computer he can manage to recover the score. His piano is to modern to be defeated by a Cat! loool I think he just said that as a funny episode, I don't think he is worried with that lol
