If it does it will never be as good as the original!

Nah, I mean who in their right minds would produce it? Andrew hasn't been especially bankable in his new shows, and especially with the horrible source material and the huge pile of musical sequels that failed.

I think he's taking a note out of Disney's book. Why not milk something good while you can?

Yes it will happen. He has announced it. I don't understand how he can do Phantom 2, The Master and Margaritha and Any Dream will Do all in the space of the next few years. Stardom is going to his head. He is getting to ambitious. He has played with Phantom too much now and it is taking away my love of the musical. It is great in the origional (and alright in the movie) form but now this is too far. Who will play Phantom?

Seriously, someone should protect the man from his own ideas... I agree... I doubt a sequel could hold a candle (is that the expression?) to the original...

Just Out of curiosity will this be based on the Phantom of Manhatten which Andrew post-poned because he himself thought it was a bad idea.

What could the sequel be possibly about? Christine dies in the end, and it's all about unreturned love and how Christine inspires the Phantom to write music, if he fells in love again then the first one would be meaningless???

Christine dies in the end... Eh?!? It let me a bit so as well, then I realized: Christine dies after her happy life with Raoul... Though I guess a "sequel" would take place somewhere in- between the end of "Phantom" and Christine's death...
