I would love to see Bruno Grassini.

Bruno is fabulous!
It seems like most of the 'repeat' people have a history with the Vienna production. Harry Kupfer has an affinity for the Vienna performers, I think.

I recently came across a bunch of promotional photos with Elisabeth, Death and Franz-Joseph going on a carriage ride in Berlin: musicalclub24.net/cms/index.php?id=460Here's me hoping that they're wearing the Essen costumes simply because the spiffy new costumes they're working on weren't finished yet. I would at least love to finally have the Bathrobe of Death changed into something that actually looks cool and interesting. But Pia is lovely as always.

Costumes I can't really complain about cause I like them, but I would definitely love to see some new staging. Maybe a Essen/Vienna Mix perhaps?

I at least hope and pray that if nothing else, they will change the staging of the short Die Schatten to be more like the Vienna version. I can live with the other German costumes, many of them are very pretty, but I really don't share the love many people have for the Death costume. I hope they'll change it into something more interesting.

I think it was said earlier that it wouldn't be a copy of the existing productions when it comes to how it looks. And the new costumes might just not be finished yet. With the Finnish Elisabeth production, some costumes were not finished yet when they were taking the promotional pictures (there are no pictures of Elisabeth's Hungarian coronation dress, for example). Perhaps other productions don't leave their costumes at the last moment, perhaps they do.

Every time I see the Stage Holding costumes being used, I believe a bit more that they're being used in the new production. However, it's very possible they are just using what was available. (One of the promotional logos for Best of Musical showed Maike Boerdam in the Vienna Winterhalter costume, so go figure!)

Yeah... I'm just not giving up hope before I have to. I'd love to see new costumes, simply because I like seeing different ways in which things can be done. And I'm not perfectly happy with any production's costumes so I'd always like to see new innovations. You know what would be cool? If they updated Death's costume to the 21st century and made him a handsome Goth dressed in black leather. I would so pay to see that. Well, maybe I'm not terribly eager to see Uwe in leather (still, it might be an improvement), but Felix would already be quite hot like that, as well as some other actors in some other productions. I believe the credit for the idea goes to Sinina, we were discussing it at some point, but I really liked the mental image I got.

I don't believe I saw this posted in this thread, but there's a more comprehensive cast list up: www.mkv-ev.de/index.htm?eli32.htmI'll be having a squee for several days after seeing Mirjam Zipf's name on this list! You know what would be cool? If they updated Death's costume to the 21st century and made him a handsome Goth dressed in black leather. I would so pay to see that. That would actually be quite nice (so long as it didn't turn into unkempt, greasy Goth like it did in Switzerland.) It would be the best of the rock-but-so-80s Vienna costumes and the neo-modern-but-nothing-much Stage Holding costume. Personally, I don't want to see Felix in it any more than I would Uwe, but it would be a refreshing change on anyone!

Yay, a more complete cast list! Sue me, I think Felix is relatively hot. Can't pronounce any language in an understandable way when singing, but fairly nice to look at...

What a nice picture to get in my head!!!!I'm having nightmares now! LOL ;D Although I like the idea of a Goth Death, I hate leather. Looks awfull to me. I still prefer the Essen coat. Maybe not so plain, I would add some details in silver probably, but not something very big. If they puted Death with black air and those things they put in Szylvester's hair in Hungary and join that with the Essen coat with sylver details, I think it would be awsome... I fear if they puted Death as a Goth people may not like the idea...after all Death is...Death...not the son of Satan ;D

I think a lot of the costumes for Death have been gothic already. Goth does not always equal black leather, that's a poor stereotype. The gothic look is very diverse and is not Satanic in the least bit (unless your one of the handful of idiots in all walks of life that ruin things for everyone else).
