Yes that's been out for some time now... it's only the ensemble singing though. There's a blog on the official site that uploads short video clips almost every day and I love watching those. exercise.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/files/tdvkeiko.movHere's a short (47sec) talk with the actors playing Krolock and the Professor.

Does anyone happen to know the name of the theater in which Tanz will be performed in Japan?

Does anyone happen to know the name of the theater in which Tanz will be performed in Japan? I believe that it is the Empire Theatre (Teikoku Gekijou) in Tokyo. That's Toho's main theatre, one of the biggest. It's going to start from tomorrow!!!

There are some pictures and a short article about the Japanese show on Michael Kunze's homepage: storyarchitekt.com/VampTokio.htmlIt looks a bit different than the German productions but Kunze seems to love it, so it must be good. I wish they would do a dvd or a cast recording at least.

Toho do a cast recording of everything, so expect a CD sometime late this year or early next year.

Once the Cast Recording comes out, lets hope that it doesn't cut off Krolock's line after "Totale Finsternis" like it did on the Polish Cast Recording.

Oops sorry forgot to translate that one Sinina put up! To explain what's written on that blog...
The two pictures up there are fake covers, so that's not what it will really be like when it's been released... Thank goodness! (those covers are terrible) It will be released on November. It will be a 2disc set but there will be no separate recordings for different casts. The first act will have Urai and Ootsuka as Alfred and Sarah, and the second act will have the other two cast members. But for people who for instance want to hear Ootsuka's 2nd act bits, all the important songs by the non-recorded pair will be added as bonus tracks. Because of the limit in time, it will only be a highlights recording.
Okay so I don't really get it either.. Toho's never recorded a musical like this before. I think this is a weird way to make a recording... what do you think? :S
(oh, and from what I've heard... Totale Finsternis has been shortened!!!)

Thank you so much, Marielle! It's nice to hear vampire news from Japan. I agree that the way they are going to make the cast recording sounds quite weird. But let's hope that the CD will be good. Can't wait for it... Shortening songs like Totale Finsternis is a sin. The version they had in Hamburg almost made me scream.

That does sound complicated! But I'm glad there will be another recording, regardless! We need more recordings of Tanz, and since I won't be able to travel to Japan to see it, it'll be good that there'll be at least some material available.
I agree that shortening Totale Finsternis is a sin. The way it was shortened in Hamburg just doesn't work at all... If they need to cut down the time the musical lasts, can't they cut it somewhere else?
