Latest rumors state that Drew Sarich will take Thomas place as Krolock in September... how cool is that!? (although I think Drew would have a voice much more Herbert-suited but...)

To me nothing is official until the VBW says it But I wished they had waited and made the CD with Drew instead. Thomas wasn't inspired then anyway and at least we would have a Recording with Drew if he takes the role...Now I have to find an excuse to return to Vienna...

Parody or not it's gorgeous...and if it leads those brainless-teenage-girls to buying tickets even better for the vaults of the VBW (although I doubt any of them returns to the show after realizing those vampires don't sparkle...) lol

Or that Sarah doesn't stay with Krolock in the end for Troo Vampiric Wuv 4Eva and have vampire babies. Well, it's good for them to learn that life is full of disappointments.

*yawn* So they now have this poster in Vienna, too? How boring. Stuttgart has this kind of poster already for months. It was also available in a smaller size in the magazine "Blickpunkt Musical" number 46, saying "This love never ends!". Here are pictures of 2 different versions: www.dancing-vampires.de/random/plakat_1.jpgwww.dancing-vampires.de/random/plakat_3.jpgAs far as I know people in Vienna were asked which kind of poster they wish. Seems, the Twilight-fans won...

Yeah, I know they've had it in Stuttgart, too. I rolled my eyes at it for a long time, then decided it's a parody and I should treat it as such. It's pretty fun imagining the Twilight fangirls' reaction to the musical not being all about Troo Sparkly Wuv. Still, I'm not happy that everything vampire-related should be associated with TwiVamps just because it's the popular thing now. Any of the TdV vampires would kick Edward's a** thoroughly and completely any time. And that includes vampire!Alfred. Heck, I'm sometimes tempted to write a fic where the human Alfred stakes Edward. It is sad if the reason is that the vote won, not that they wanted to parody the Twilight phenomenon... That slogan on the poster you mentioned is ironic on many levels. Not only do I much question the idea that Krolock/Sarah is love, it also ends and very soon. If Sarah didn't run off with Alfred mid-ball, I'm sure it would still end by the next morning.

The poster could also appeal for True Blood fans and True Blood is a gazilion times better than Twilight. I like these kind of posters anyway. They may not REALLY reflect the show, but they are pretty and I like pretty things lol

Is the show truly ending at the end of the year? If so, what is next for the Ronacher?

So far the show is planned to run until Summer 2011. So unless sales dropped drasticaly, it won't close so soon.
As for what could follow it...no idea, but granted there will be a 20th Anniversary production of Elisabeth in 2012, I think whatever is going to the Ronacher isn't to last long. (Unless they stage Elisabeth at the Raimund Theater which I don't think it will happen but then again...)

It's finally official that Drew Sarich is replacing Thomas Borchert as Krolock in Vienna. www.musicalclub.at/index.php/de/home/article/65918The link also includes the names of other people who are leaving and coming in the upcoming cast change. Mainly ensemble and understudies, and Melanie Ortner is replacing Anna Thorén as first cast Magda.

I would have prefered if they had waited and released the CD with Drew instead. Thomas is great but he is off on a disaster of a CD. And we already have a CD with him but none with Drew.
I just hope he does good in the role...I'm quite skeptical after the HUGE disapointment that was Jan Amman to me...

Yeah, I agree it would have made more sense to wait until they had had the cast change, because most of the cast on the recording has already been recorded before. I thought Thomas was decent on it, but uninspired.
I have no idea of what to expect of Drew as Krolock. He doesn't fit my idea of the role at all, but on the other hand he could do something new and interesting with it. We'll see, I guess.
