Kata Janza (Gräfin Larisch) Ohhhh, good old Marie Larisch. I sincerely hope that Wildhorn didn't use her books as source material (though it'd make for a scandalous story....!) MiladyDeWinter

Well, now I'm looking forward to seeing who'll be in the Vienna cast... Me too. After all, Vienna isn't that far from here and my mum wants to see the city anyway, so...

These are good news .... but where is Elisabeth Well, consider this musical focuses on Rudolf, I guess I can allow them to get away w/ not including Elisabeth...

I think Rudolf will be good because two songs have already been audible in Hungarian. The CD's title is Mindhalálig musical if you are interested in it.

I think that Elisabeth should be included in the story, because she had strong influence on Rudolf, I mean from the moral position or how to say that, they were similar. I have read a few books about Rudolf and Elisabeth (to mention, at leat Brigitte Hamman). I just wonder if there is mentioned Rudolf´s veneral disease. Venerology is becoming popular in the musicals, we see it in Elisabeth. But it quite usual for the society in 19th century. ;D

The song number 2 is a new version of "Only Love" who appeared in the first version of "The Scarlet Pimpernel". (And it's included in the OBC)

The songs are so uplifting and bright, are they really about a pair of insane couple killing themselves? Having listened to the songs in Elisabeth, I would have expected the songs in this new musical to be darker and more mysterious

Having listened to the songs in Elisabeth, I would have expected the songs in this new musical to be darker and more mysterious Exactly what I was thinking...such innocent love songs for the insane relationship between Rudolf and Mary? Unbelievable. From what I read in the novel "A Nervous Splendor"(which is the musical supposed to be based on) a few months ago, I'd expect the music scores to be more gloomy to fit the atmosphere of struggle and despair of Vienna 1889... But the songs here feel like disney soundtracks||||
