Yesterday I was in a kind of a press conference but for normal people and not press, so anyone could go there and hear the director tell about the production. Of course I knew what the musical is about, but it was still very interesting and the director seemed to be a big fan of Danvers, both the character and the actress. I got the full cast list (finally), but I don't know much about the actors. I've seen Frank in a comedy series on TV and liked him, but the role was very different from Frank so it's hard to say what he will be like. If I remember correctly, I really liked Beatrice's voice in Evita where she played the mistress and sang better than Eva. There's also an actress for Rebecca. Apparently we will see a white ghost-like woman haunting the manor or something like that, I'm not sure. The idea sounded very much like the one we discussed in the Rebecca thread ages ago. The director said that he has done quite a different production than the original one and I'm curious to see if the result is good. I also got a list of the songs in Finnish and I'm not sure what I should think about it. The point of the song is there, but some titles are very hard to fit into the music and I don't know how they should be sung.

I'm very interested to see what comes out of this. Well, the premiere is tomorrow night, then we'll know much more!
I agree some of the song titles sound a bit stiff or weird. Though we'll see how the whole translation turns out.

Apperently there's a SPY on this Boards!!!!!!!! ;D I do like the idea of a white ghost of Rebecca, as long as you don't notice too well her face About the song list, sometimes the titles of the songs don't match exactly the lines in the song. "Jonathans Schlafzimmer" for example? So I wouldn't be very worried about that I am of course expecting a detailed review on the 29th ;D

I like the Ball costumes much more than the Vienna ones...but the hair on "Ich" and Beatrice leaves much to be desired.
In generally, it's looking beautiful and very exciting!!! The scene with Danvers and "Ich" on the balcony looks terrifying.

What's wrong with Beatrice's hair?
The ball costumes are very nice on their own, but I found them a bit confusing in the actual ball scene. It's hard to tell people apart because everyone's dressed in very similar style, and because everyone else's dress is also white, Ich's costume doesn't seem so special, though it's really very beautiful.
By the way, in the case anyone missed it, Cia posted a detailed review in the reviews section, which will tell you all a lot more about exactly how the Finnish production was done and what we thought of it.

It's just that her hair looks unprofessionally styled...I like that it's down...it just looks sloppy rather than well-done. I have the same problem with "Ich"'s style as well....
I'm going to read that review now...

Great! Thanks Fantasma My pleasure About the hairstyles. I totaly prefer the Finnish Beatrice style to the horse-lover Vienna one. Ich's dress really fades in the middle of the guests and she looks a bit like Marie Antoinette, but it may be on purpose...she wanted to surprise everyone and in the end she ended up not only being as common as all the other guests but also irritating Maxim ... and I totaly love the Finnish "Ich" style too. The actress is much prettier than Wietske and looks really lovely in that innocent kinda way.
